Dear Senator Boxer
Dear Senator Boxer:
You truly inspired me on 1/06/05. In my 35 years of life, I have never had the privilege of bearing witness to such a courageous and sacrificial leadership stance from an elected representative. In my mind, and I believe in the minds of millions of well-informed citizens and patriots, your leadership qualities are now legend.
For the first time in a very long while, I saw a sliver of light cut through the moral darkness that has engulfed this nation. Something to grasp at and a small measure of warmth to contrast the frigid void of my party's leadership which has eluded my cold, tired and abandoned hands.
I don't care that we lost, I just care that you stood with me, and I did not feel alone on 1/6/05.
Thank You

Nice Job
Beautifully said.
My letter -
Wow, blue planet - what a beautifully written and eloquent letter! Here is what I wrote:
Dear Senator Boxer - THANK YOU!!! I am so pleased that you signed the objection to the certification of Ohio's electoral votes. It is so very reassuring to know that we still have politicians who can and will do the right thing. You did a brave and rightoues thing when you signed the objection and I am VERY IMPRESSED with your bravery and integrety.
I am so proud that some of our elected leaders have stood up against this sham of an election. I am thoroughly ashamed of Democratic leaders in the House and Senate that did not vote to support the objection. How dare they! I am closely watching CSPAN as the debate progresses to see what my two senators, Murray and Cantwell, will do and/or say - if anything - and how they vote on this issue. A vote to certify Ohio's electoral vote in spite of the serious problems with the election will mean I will not again support them. Rather, my vote will go to a Green Party or Independent Party candidate. If my Democratic Senators do not stand up to this tyrannical election, they lose all my respect and support. <>
You, however, have gained my respect and support. I do not live in California, however if you are ever on the ballot for any national office, you have my vote as well as my time and energy in volunteer service to your campaign, my financial contributions, and my prayers.
Even as a non-constituent, I can keep you and your campaign efforts in my prayers, and contribute to your political efforts. I will do both of these things for as long as you remain in politics.
Thank you again for you service to our country!
Excellent letter and generous offer.

One thing
While thanking Sen. Boxer this time, I can't help but to wonder where the hell she was after 2000? For that matter, where were Feingold, Kennedy, and Wellstone (RIP)?
Good question, but I believe
Good question, but I believe that the intervention of the SC muddied the water for a lot of people at the time.
Didn't you hear her speech?.......
She admitted she was AWOL in 2000 and apologized deeply for her bad judgement in 2000
