One day and counting - have you called your Senators yet (202-224-3121)?

If you can get to DC on Wednesday, Democrats.com is co-sponsoring a Stop Voter Disenfranchisement Rally at 10:00 a.m. in Lafayette Park, across from the White House (16th & H Streets, NW). We will then march to Capitol Hill to join the ReDefeatBush.com Patriotic Outrage Rally at noon.

Rev. Jesse Jackson presented the case for the challenge in his local paper, the Chicago Sun-Times:

Conyers will step up, accompanied by other courageous members of the House. They will object to the count and demand a debate. To force that debate, they need only one member of the Senate to join them. [Senate Democratic leader Harry] Reid should lead the entire caucus to join them. Kerry should stand alone if necessary to demand clean elections in America.

If America is to be a champion of democracy abroad, it must clean up its elections at home. If it is to complain of fraudulent and dishonest election practices abroad, it cannot condone them at home. But more important, if our own elections are to be legitimate, then they must be honest, open, with high national standards.

The time has come to stand up for clean elections, and to let it be known that massive irregularities will not go unchallenged.

Jackson's appeal to John Kerry is pointless, since Kerry will be MIA, as the Boston Herald reports:

Kerry's two-week overseas trip, which includes stops in war-ravaged Iraq, conveniently allows the defeated Democrat nominee to avoid a potentially awkward moment on the House floor as congressmen vote to certify election results.

"(Kerry) wants to personally thank our troops for their service, focus on the steps that must be taken to achieve success in Iraq and hear from experts in the region," Kerry spokeswoman April Boyd said...

"While he conceded the election on Nov. 3, he is still very passionate about having every vote count," Boyd said.

Senator Kerry, if you were truly "very passionate about having every vote count," you could "report for duty" in the Senate on behalf of the 59 million Americans who placed our ultimate trust in your hands.

What are you afraid of - a vicious attack by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Bill O'Reilly? None of their listeners would ever vote for you, even if you personally killed every terrorist in the world and lost four limbs (and an anal cyst) in the process. A frown by the Washington Post or NY Times? Your e-mail list is bigger than their combined readership, so just tell them to go Cheney themselves!

As Randi Rhodes advises all Democrats:  grow a pair!!!

The other 44 Senate Democrats remain silent. Yesterday I called the press secretaries of the 10 Democrats I consider most likely to stand up - but I'm still waiting for them to tell Democratic activists where they stand. The Moonie Times got a statement from Barack Obama:

[Rev. Jesse] Jackson called on newly sworn-in Sen. Barack Obama, Illinois Democrat, to support them. Mr. Obama said his staff is reviewing the Ohio resolution, but said he has not decided whether he will sign it.

"The election is over and President Bush won fair and square, so I don't think we need to challenge the election, but we continue to have chronic problems in our voting system," he said. "Some of the practices in Ohio were clearly illegal and disenfranchised voters and, let's be real about this, some Republicans were denied their rights to vote as well."

Yes they were - and Independents, Greens, and other voters too. The principle we're fighting for is the one core principle of Democracy, which transcends all parties - every vote must count.

Meanwhile Karl Rove's Media Blackout Memo is in full force. According to Google News, the TV networks (including Keith Olbermann) and national newspapers all Memorized the Memo. If there are any non-whores left in the Washington media, they should prove it by attending today's 2 p.m. press conference at the National Press Club.

BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT, BUSH DID NOT WIN THE OHIO OR NATIONAL VOTE.
HISTORIC PRESIDENTIAL CHALLENGE.

WHO:
Lead plaintiff, Moss v. Bush, Rev. Bill Moss
Lead trial counsel, Peter Peckarsky
Professor and statistical expert, Ron Baiman, Ph.D.
Publisher and lawyer, Bob Fitrakis
Lawyer, Susan Truitt
Exit polling expert, Jonathan Simon, JD
Senior editor, freepress.org. Harvey Wasserman
Legal statistician, Richard Hayes-Phillips, Ph.D
Director, Progressive Democrats of America, Tim Carpenter
NAACP, National Voter Fund, Greg Moore
Author Warren Linney, MA (The Patriot Test)

WHAT:
• Exit polls did not match the reported vote in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and 7 of 8 other key battleground states
• Voting machines with secret software owned by private, partisan companies subject to manipulation and which deprived citizens of their right to fair and transparent elections
• Uncounted and provisional ballots negatively and disproportionately affected African American voters
• Inexplicable vote disparities
• Voting Rights Act Violations
• Recount did not recount all the votes
• Challenge at January 6 Joint Session of Congress

WHY:
TO PROVIDE FULL BACKGROUND ON KEY ASSERTIONS PRIOR TO THE HISTORIC CONGRESSIONAL CHALLENGE TO THE 2004 VOTE

What about the rest of America's so-called "free press"? The only article in Ohio was in Tuesday's Toledo Blade (Bush campaign urges dismissal of election lawsuit). The only local papers were Washington's right-wing Moonie Times (Dissent to mar Bush validation), Kerry's right-wing Boston Herald (On Iraq trip, Kerry to skip election finale), and Bush's spunky Lone Star Iconoclast of Crawford (05’s Brave New World).

Investigations into the presidential vote in Ohio have revealed that the election was compromised in a major way, eliminating any possibility that the election was fair. On Jan. 6, the government has an opportunity to right this wrong to democracy by refusing to certify the Ohio electors. That will be a red-letter day in history, for its ramifications are deep.

Our question is “Will Congress act to save democracy?” Our guess is “Probably not.” The conventional wisdom in Washington is that the people do not deserve a fair election; only reassuring propaganda.

Where is the so-called "liberal" media? In the entire country, only NY Daily News columnist (and Democracy Now co-host) Juan Gonzalez (Recount countdown) mentioned the Elector challenge.

I'm afraid noone in our day has the same guts as JFK/RFK. Heres praying that someone in our party in the Senate will be overwhelmed by the spirit of a dead Kennedy and finally get some guts. God help us all.

Take strategic action NOW!

Hi,
I have been deeply involved in the activities in San Francisco regarding the efforts to contest the election.
I firmly believe there is still hope if we ACT NOW!
Based on the Redefeat Bush meeting and the reading I've been doing online, here is what I strongly believe is the best strategy.
PLEASE email everyone you know and tell them to call/fax the following five senators:

Robert Byrd, WV-
He's old and doesn't care what Harry Reid (head Dem Senator) says. He might want to make history and stand up. Encourage him.

Fax by emailing: remote-printer.Senator_Byrd@12022280002.iddd.tpc.int

Call: (202) 224-3954

Obama from IL-
He's Black and the main people standing up in Congress are Black. It's in his political interest to show solidarity and stand with them. He seems to be considering the idea seriously. (see http://blog.democrats.com/senator)

Fax by emailing: remote-printer.Senator_Obama@13124276401.iddd.tpc.int

Call: (202) 224-2854

Harry Reid from NV-
Tell him, "If you do it, everyone will. Be the leader you're supposed to be."

Fax by emailing: remote-printer.Senator_Reid@12022247327.iddd.tpc.int

Call him: (202) 224-3542

Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer from CA-
They have a clear mandate for their seats in California and are backed by many many many activists/liberals who would be THRILLED if they stood up. We have been putting pressure on their offices in California and talking extensively with their aides.
ALSO, tell them that THERE’S A NEW CLUB CALLED SENATE WOMEN UNITED. All of the democratic women are going to make history by standing together and objecting to the election certification on Thursday, January 6th.

Fax them by emailing:
Boxer:

remote-printer.Senator_Boxer@12022283972.iddd.tpc.int

and

Feinstein:

remote-printer.Senator_Feinstein@12022283954.iddd.tpc.int

Call them:
Boxer- (202) 224-3553
Feinstein- (202) 224-3841

People are only allowed to send FIVE faxes in a 24 hour period, so that's it for the faxes. But people can also call the other women senators and remind them that the women in the senate are going to stand together and contest the election.

Members of SENATE WOMEN UNITED:

Blanche Lincoln- (202) 224-4843
Mary Landrieu- (202) 224-5824
Barbara Mikulski- (202) 224-4654
Debbie Stabenow- (202) 224-4822
Hilary Clinton- (202) 224-4451
Patty Murray- (202) 224-2621
Maria Cantwell- (202) 224-3441

Tell the senators to contest:

FLORIDA
NEVADA
NEW MEXICO
OHIO

Those are the states we have enough evidence of voter fraud to contest.

Feel free to email me about this information. Most of my sources come from www.redefeatbush.com, http://blog.democrats.com/senator, and http://miamedia.com/votergate/take.action.html.

Good luck!

Kerry plans on running in 2008 and could not care less what happens to us in the meantime. If he does not stand up now and some Democrats pick him again we will get what we deserve. Howard Dean would not have given up, in fact he would have won the red states by changing the morality argument to jobs, healthcare and social security.

Fool me once shame on you...

Yes I agree although Dean is

Yes I agree although Dean is considered "far left"... He wouldn't have let them slander and destroy him like Kerry did... I didn't think Dean had a chance...But I see now he did...

John Kerry is not MIA..

The Senator is currently AWOL. We backed him because he claimed to be looking out for us. How is John Kerry going to be able to look a real man, like John Conyers, in the eye when he returns? While Kerry is on ski trips and overseas adventures Rep. Conyers and his colleagues in the House, and the rest of us as well, have been working to bring this stolen election to light. It's been an uphill battle and we've done it with Conyers, David Cobb, and Jesse Jackson as our leaders. Forget John Kerry. This is not about him anymore.

Never ever concede to fraud.<\i>
