Replacing Blue Dog and Moderate Democrats
The progressive democrats need to get together and start working to replace the blue dog and moderate democrats in congress. We need to find candidates who will not take money from special interests. If a candidate is able to produce a lot of television ads more than likely he or she is getting money from big business. That cannot be our man or woman. We have to find progressives who will work for us, not for corporations. Is this a democracy or a corportocracy. This is war and until the progressives get together, work together, we are going to lose. We can call, write until we are blue in the face, but many of those we contact will never do what we want because they are bought and paid for by big business. I am tired of the lip service we get when someone runs for office. They tell us what we want to hear, but then do their own thing when they are in Washington. ENOUGH!!! It is going to be up to us to change this country.

pussy democrats
I am so sick and tired of getting majorities and doing nothing with them...if this was the other way around, you can believe that the republicans would have already ramned it through
Don't call it "health insurance"
I have been asking my patients, "Do you believe all Americans should have health insurance?" About 98% say "yes" without hesitation. When I then ask them, "Do you really mean, when you say that, that all Americans should have access to affordable health CARE?" they think a few seconds, and ultimately say, "Yes, that's what I mean." I then tell them that it is important to realize that they are NOT the same thing. Health insurance means roughly 30% of the premium doesn't go to health care at all, that CEO's of health insurance companies make maybe $150 million in salary (which doesn't go to health care) not to mention bonuses, corporate jets, stock options, private golf clubs, spas, etc., etc. It means that much money goes into the complicated and convoluted administrative fees of hundreds or thousands of insurance companies with numerous different plans (which doesn't go to health care). It means that your premium money goes to entities that don't cover all that is included under "health care" such as dental, optical, prescriptions, etc. It means that if you have a pre-existing condition, you're out of luck. It means that if you've paid hefty premiums for years, and finally get sick, that they may kick you off. It means you may go bankrupt for medical debt, and that you may lose your home for the same reason. Why do Americans clasp tightly to their health insurance? Because they don't know any better. They don't know there is another choice - a public option. And though they've heard the term many times, they don't really know what that means. When I discuss with them the elements in House Bill 676, and address the scare tactics of the opponents such as, "government takeover, socialism, the claim of incredible debt" and get to the bottom line, and how it is financed, they find it very appealing, but they were never aware that such a thing existed, had never really heard of it. Which is the problem. I do not care if the current bill for "health reform" fails, as it is deeply flawed. More time is needed to educate and explain to people what a true public option is and how it works and is funded. To push through any old bill for the sake of passing "something" is unacceptable, and reminds me of what happened when the Patriot Act got shoved down our throats in the atmosphere of fear after 911, and essentially the same thing when the we were pushed (again under incredible fear) to fund the bailouts of the culprits who created the problem. We must never give up or give in to this type of "emotional terrorism" which has been used to manipulate our citizens to go along with actions which are counter to their own interests. The unknowing, frightened citizens behave like Davids fighting for Goliath, never realizing their efforts are counter to their own self-interest. This is the work that has to be done, and done with at least as much passion and zeal as the opponents fighting progress.
Al Lawson
Al Lawson is a popular progressive in the Tallahassee area for Dstrict 2, but so far has shown little action on tackling Boyd. He could use some help and direction if he is going to take that seat.
