Support the Public Option, and get avtive
In the last 2 weeks I have contacted Rep. Bart Stupak in Michigan, and Sen. Mary Landrau in Lousiana about supporting the public option for thr Health Care Bill. I am asking all of you great Democrats to contact your Congressional Representatives, and Senators and tell them that the public option is absolutely necessary.
The insurance industry has America held hostage by their practices. When I recently retired I found that health insurance runs from $180-$850 per month after retirement. Who can afford this?
The American working men and women deserve to have health insurance that covers any and all illnesses, not just the ones the insurance companies say they will cover. The working people of America should all be insured, not just the people that can afford it.
The insurance companies have the preferred provider network, this network is actually run by the insurance companies. This is to limit your options, not to really help you the insured. The insurance companies are now nothing more than a large criminal enterprise that is there only to take all of the money from you they can get away with.
They user the Congress to continue to fleece the public out of their hard earned money. Lets now show them that we all have the gumption to fight!
Support the Public Option!

Save the state-level single-payer healthcare amendment
What am I to do, file for long-term disability? Though I am willing and able to work, and, more importantly, was a productive permanent employee for more than 6 years, I’ve been without permanent employment since January 2008. And as long as insurance is employer based, I suspect that that won’t change.
In theory, insurance companies are forbidden from sharing confidential information with employers. But Oregon Counseling, a consumer protection non-profit agency, notes in the article "Confidentiality: The Risks of Using Mental Health Insurance," the line between employers and health care companies has become "increasingly blurred" because employers and companies work together to cut costs. "As insurance companies increasingly centralize their records, they provide access to multiple sources that are not policed by any external agency and are essentially on their good behavior to not misuse their access to your records."
Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi unveiled health care legislation that, among other things, eliminates the pre-existing condition clause. However, I’m not convinced that the new legislation will change business as usual, as employers will continue to rely on the same means they’ve always used to deprive those of us with mental illness employment opportunities. For as long as health insurance is employer based, I’m a liability.
Nothing changes if nothing changes. An amendment allowing states to create state-level single-payer healthcare has been stripped out of the House healthcare bill, after having passed in committee back in July by a vote of 27 to 19. This amendment must be restored, for as long as health insurance is employer based, those willing and able to work with medical histories similar to mine will likely remain unemployed.
President Obama is all hope, hot air! So far, he is a no show!
Tell President Obama that a major reason that I voted and supported him is that I thought he would not meet behind closed doors and cut deals with big corporations. I also thought he supported single-payer public health care for all. Everybody in and nobody out!
He failed me on both counts. He cut deals behind closed doors with the insurance industry to guarantee their $ billions to fund democratic elections in exchange for at first his attempt to let Congress to exclude a public option and then their belated attempts at last week's watered down congressional bill.
President Obama is all hope, hot air! So far he is a no show!
If he does not get 100% behind SINGLE PAYER PUBLIC OPTION or MEDICAD for ALL.
Forget it.
He will not get my vote again and neither will other Democrats.
My vote will be on strike. All President Obama has done is show us that we should not get our hopes up!
This is not change that we can believe in!
