Health Care Reform Disinformation Campaign at Town Hall Meeting by Fake Activists hired by Loobbyists for Big Business

As covered on the Rachel Maddow Show, The Daily Show, and possibly other places the lobbyists for pharmaceutical giants, HMOS and insurance companies are hiring people to shout down Democrats speaking at Town Halls for health care reform. These fake activists are getting heavily covered by the corporate media but always without the important part of the story that the activists are fake. Fox News, as demonstrated by The Daily Show planted the idea that Obama wanted to kill senior citizens, then read aloud a "concerned citizen's" email parroting back the same thought, and then covered it again as if it were real news.

My question is what if anything are the Democrats doing to combat this and why hasn't this organization (Democrats.com) sent  out emails asking me to forward true information on health care reform to my contacts?

Why aren't the Democrats in Congress doing anything to combat this?  Did they take too much campaign moneyfrom these entites?

Mob Action Is Disorderly Conduct

We Democrats watched paid congressional staffers behave as a mob to close down the Palm Beach recount, and we are again seeing "mob action" across the country by itinerants being bussed around the country to attempt to intimidate fellow citizens and congressional representatives.

This is an infringement of free speech, as they interfere with citizens' rights to talk with their congressional representatives.

Their unruly, "tumultuous" behavior is disorderly conduct, and they should be arrested if they persist after being warned.

Congressional representatives have an obligation to the public to provide a safe environment conducive to the exchange of ideas, including using security guards and police intervention if necessary to maintain order.

Intimidating others from exercising their right to free speech is a crime, and is affront to the rule of law. These "Rent-A-Mobs" are a clear indication that health insurance industry is struggling to maintain control of the $800 billion dollars per year that they skim off of health care premiums for "administrative costs," such as multi-million dollar executive compensation, bonuses and golden parachutes, lobbying, and advertising.

If you look on the right hand column, you will see that Democrats.com, along with AfterDowningStreet.org and Progressive Democrats of America is organizing Health Care Now! rallies at congressional district offices nationwide on Saturday, August 22nd.

In the meantime, please speak to your family, friends and neighbors about the need for and financial advantages of a single-payer health care system. Here's one list of resources about it.
