"I don't want my grandchildren, of whom I have six now, coming up to me
when they're old enough and saying, 'Grandpa, you worked for the CIA.
What was it like torturing people?' I would say I didn't torture
people, and they would say as the German kids say to their parents,
'What did you do to stop it?'"
Ray McGovern was a CIA analyst for 27 years. He returned his CIA
"Intelligence Commendation Award" medallion in 2006 saying "I do not
wish to be associated with torture". He cofounded Veteran Intelligence
Professionals for Sanity and works with "Tell the Word", the publishing
arm of the ecumenical Church of the Saviour in Washington, DC.
McGovern’s famous confrontation of Donald Rumsfeld lying about Iraq
WMD is shown here on Keith Olbermann:

Plus: Jon Eisenberg, the lawyer representing the plaintiffs in the
famous warrantless wiretapping case Al-Haramain v. Bush. Jon is calling for Jay Bybee's resignation from the 9th Circuit.

"I wonder whether Bybee feels guilty before God. He certainly has no
business being a federal judge. His presence on the Ninth Circuit U.S.
Court of Appeals brings disgrace to that court. He should resign." Jon
Eisenberg in the San Francisco Recorder
