This MAY be what brings O'Reilly down, he tried very hard to whip up violence against Dr Tiller and he's succeeded.  As you can see from his backpedaling he's trying very hard to disassociate himself from what happened.  It's so typical of his massive ego that he can't resist trying to justify the killing even when he's trying desperately to cover his butt

What we need now is a comprehensive list of current Faux News advertisers.  I've been unalbe to come up with one (and I don't have television so I can't suffer through watching to make my own).  Anyone here willing or up for the task of compiling a list so we can organize an emailing campaign to O'Reilly's sponsors?

The powers in charge threw Don Imus off of the air for a one time thoughtless joke, and the news of his "crime" was only really nothing more then a thoughtless joke. Yet, Imus supposed crime was all over TV for weeks and in a short time Imus was gone from the airways. Bill O'Reilly's crime wasn't a one time thoughtless joke on a comedy hour at 6AM on a radio station few hear. Bill's show is on prime time national TV for the whole world to hear, night after night after night.
OReilly pushed for this doctors murder, he demanded and he asked for this man to be "stopped" at least 28 times. I see a HUGE difference here in how this is not being handled correctly or at all by the media. We can ask the local fox stations in our area to take Bill's show off of the air or you'll stop watching. Also, write sponsors, that's the quickest way to stop him. Locally can spread across America and we can get hate speach off of the air.
Dr. Tiller's assasination, to me, was caused directly by those like O'Reilly, but especially Bill. He is just as responsible for this crime to me as if he ordered the "hit". In fact OReilly did order this doctors death, 28 times on his show. Dr. Tiller deserves to be remembered for more then his senseless murder. His death should remind us that the fanatic religious right have gone too far and this isn't the first time they've done this to a doctor, and they're still coming. Bill is a symptom and let's not forget these "christians" condone murder. America should see that this murder is a direct result of all of the hatred that began with the GOP's division of the American people in the Bush years, and continues now with Rush Windbag, Fox News and Bill O'Reilly's trashy shows that seem to appeal to the less educated. Let's call local stations and begin there to take back our country and our airways and boycott the spread of this sick thinking that is caused by these irresponsible people nightly. While you're at it ask the TV networks why they fail to carry the story of OReilly asking people to "stop" this doctor. They carried the Imus story for weeks this is at least that important, isn't it?

 Way back in President Regan's day someone proposed repealing The Fairness Doctrine. The F.D. said that political debate on American Airwaves must present both sides. Today we are overwhelmed with un-popular loudmouths who spew hate and anger with out taking into consideration how this might form puplic thought.   It's time to bring fairness back to our country.

To add to this boycott of Faux News...I beg you all to sign my petition against hate radio and the poison they keep spewing out...Rush, Savage, Levin, Hannity, Beck.  They have overcrossed the line by using code words to stir up the nuts with guns to do their dirty work and many of us are very disturbed that they are allowed to continue.  Off with their heads...or at least their tongues..lol.  Thanks.

I have all Fox channels but one blocked on my cable box along with the Golf Channel and the Religious Channels. If I had ala carte choice I wouldn't pay for any of them to be on my TV. This goes way back to before the 2000 election and they have not improved but become the worst purveyors of irrational total bullshit with a mix of hate and vitriol not seen or heard since the 1930's thrown in. Fox seems to have a five way race to channel the worst propagandists in history as if they could rewrite the 20 Century and have opposite outcomes in the 21st. Those il Duce Bags do not fade away though they sometimes flee to Argentina because while our fathers and brothers sisters and mothers were fighting Fascism abroad no one was fighting it back here and so it was still in place when all those came back to find segregation, bigotry, racism was more than just alive in the land it had prospered mightily with all that government war spending. So we need to frame it differently and call it by some other name because in the end the Fairness Doctrine didn't defeat them in the village square college square and with better ideas. They just went under ground and stewed and eventually found ways to aggregate their fractured numbers into a semblance of a grass roots. Amway, AL Williams were two multilevel marketing groups that tapped in to getting Christians and Right Wingers on the local school and planning boards as a way to expand their customer base. Coors brought big money to small splinter groups asking that they only always defeat any environmental laws when they appeared. So we cannot just call for an agency to do our work for us as citizens. Ever vigilant means us and we need to email call write whoever whenever we see the self appointed getting away with it. I've written as well as emailed Congress, Senate, State, Federal to let people decide what to have on their cable box and only pay for what we want and can afford. So far nothing's happened except the election but from the media coverage you'd never know it. Public Financing Elections Anti-Trust on Media Conglomerates both the ones we do not like as well as the ones we do and far stronger regulation and a 10 year ban on the revolving door between government getting into bed with the corporations they were meant to keep an eye on would be a start.  Its a hard fought thing because the opposition's expertise is in breaking consensus and fracturing dialogue and they never have any real positive proposals because they let Uncle Milty Friedmann do they're thinking for them. Without him and RR to act as a benign front man they have nothing to offer as their ideology has failed. That should be a warning that if ideologues on the right were wrong we might now not be far behind. If the Republicans continue to plot coups as they have done in NY State which further erode the public trust well thats the outcome they want because when we're fractured, burned out we lose. Our republic loses and we will descend like Rome from an Empire to a Banana Split as republic could not be used in the same sentence.  

The rest of the media are finally chipping in and recent opinion pieces by Paul Krugman and Frank Rich, among others, are setting the record straight. The hate speech must end!

I'm no Caeser Chavez but I do believe that a grassroots effort can be built to turn the tables on Faux news by convincing advertisers that there is much to lose by sponsoring hateful propaganda. We've seen yet another hate crime since Tiller's assasination (or two if you count the home invasion murder spree by the head of the racist Minutemen militia in Arizona. This is NOT going to stop unless we do something.

"Please withdraw your advertising on Fox "News."  I had no idea that you advertise with them until I chanced to see one of your ads in a restaurant on a TV that was turned to Fox.  I was appalled.

Fox is not a legitimate news organization; it is a political propaganda outfit.  The announcers on Fox distort the news; they systematically misrepresent the positions and statements of their political enemies.  Their own statements come perilously close to incitement to violence.

Please let me know when you have withdrawn your advertising from Fox, that I may thank and congratulate Ancestry.com for doing the right thing.

Thank you."

Argus, I commend you and hope that others will take your example to heart and target all advertisers on Fox News with similar letters.
