action alert! buy NOTHING during "coronation week"

rcvd the following email and it got me thinking.

"Since our religious leaders will not speak out against the war in Iraq, since our political leaders don't have the moral courage to oppose it, Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime Day" in America.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day" those who oppose what is happening in our name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms of consumer spending.

During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases. Nor toll/cab/bus or train ride money exchanges. Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours. "

----------------------

now my thought is that this is a good START but a surefire way to get corporate attention is to buy nothing, nothing at all, the entire week of the coronation. no gas, no coffee, no food, no movies, absolutely NOTHING. (fill the tank and get groceries in advance) but do not spend one red cent the week of the coronation.

what do you think?

I admire your enthusiasm, and

I admire your enthusiasm, and anyone who tries to do this, but personally I cannot do this, as much as I must travel during the week, one tank in my car wont last me the whole week.

It is a good idea, but I don't think it will have the desired impact, because not enough people will be involved.

sorry to be the pessimist.

Then make your own statement.

Then make your own statement. If you have to buy gas to get to work, so be it. But don't buy from the Big Boys. Put off any major purchases. Stick to the basics (food). Live by candle light for a day or two instead of sending money to the power company. Don't buy "Big Box". Just do something.

Protest requires two things, optimism and SOME sacrifice.

Yes, protest requires optimis

Yes, protest requires optimism (hope for change) and sacrifice.

I guess what I was really getting at is, there has to be something that creates a greater impact and gets the message across alot more resoundingly.

Not One Damn Dime Day - Jan 20, 2005 - National Movement

Not One Damn Dime Day - Jan 20, 2005 - National Movement

I disagree with this approach. I took a class on Terrorism and this is exactly what the Terrorist want for our country. They want economic chaos. That was their goal on Sept. 11th and they achieved it. Terrorist's attack the little people, the working class, the people who depend on Walmart, KMart, Target for a living. You will be attacking the guys who pump gas for little more than minimum wage in order to not become homeless. You will be attacking people who took some of their week to week paycheck and invested for their old age. The stock market drops at any little change, like Martha Stewart going to court, going to jail. When it drops retirement investments take a hit too. One day does make a difference. I purchase $10. every day for gas to travel 67 miles to work so I at the age of 53 will not be homeless two months from now. I live on one paycheck and that is why I travel so far for work. I can't earn enough where I live and I can't afford to live where I work to maintain a reasonable style of living. If I miss one day of monetary compensation I would not have enough money to pay the cost of shelter, utilities, transportation, and food for that month. I am 53 and have no health insurance because right now I can't afford the $77.00 taken from my paycheck. Some of us do not do impulse buying, we just can't do it. Yes, the World Bank is in control, but it is always the little guy who hurts the most from a recession. Write letters to your elected officials and pray. The religious and political leaders are not in control but their boss is! Just ask God to help. I think it is time we all should listen to the messages around us and get our lives and help our loved ones get their lives in order with God.

Why were Noah and his family alone on the Arch?

NO ONE WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS!

What a great form of CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE!

This is easy, I'll do it! I can do that for at least 24 hours. I'll shoot for a whole week. I think even Delacroix can do it for at least 24 hours. Fill your tank the day before. Get all of your neccesaties before hand and boycott for 24 hours. That is very doable. I personally would like more radical camping in the street kind of CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE, but this is a great start.

Not one damn Dime. I like it. So does it start on inauguation day and continue for a week? Try for the first 24 hours and then go as long as you can for the week following?

I think most people could commit to a 24 hour time period, all it takes is a little preparation.

Is there a website sponsoring this?

NotOneDamnDime.com

I got an email about this from a friend so I created a website NotOneDamnDime.com -- go sign the petition there and say a few words.

Not one RED cent.

I think it should be changed to: "Not one RED cent."

Brilliant! agreed! Not one RED cent!

spread the word far and wide! everyone can at least refrain from spending on coronation day, and let's see how many can keep their wallets shut for the full seven days afterward!

spend not one RED cent!

In

I am so in....I am spreading the word immediately, you know there was a time when nothing was open on Sundays and people simply planned their week-end accordingly, no reason we can't do it again! Thank you a million times thank you!

NotOneRedCent.com

I created another website NotOneRedCent.com -- for those with milder language preferences -- go sign the petition there and say a few words.

WHat a ridiculous idea

Do you think the media even cares your not buying food or anything during Inauguration. Please, hate Bush all you want, but why punish yourself? I mean, you didn't vote for him did you? WHy give him the satisfaction of punishing yourself.

We sincerely appreciate the R

We sincerely appreciate the Republican point-of-view. Since you obviously did vote for Rove/Dubya however, your perception of "punishment" is somewhat laughable.

action alert comment

How will we get to the inauguration day protest if we don't buy gas? Some of us live more than one tankful away.

Don't feed the beast above.

I hate to be a killjoy but...

It's a great idea in theory, but in practice you'll just have to buy twice as much the week before or the week after the coronation, so how exactly does this affect anything? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I swear.

I live in California and will be visiting relatives in Ohio over the holidays and have already volunteered to help out in any way I can with the recount there. Let's channel our energies into something positive and quit trying to go negative. And believe me, I have never felt so negative as I have since Nov. 2. I still have faith that the majority of people in the U.S. voted for Kerry/Edwards and there voice was stolen.

Let's do something that will truly make a difference. Let's act like "born agains" and attempt to convert a repug a week. Show them the true path to righteousness. You'll have to choose carefully, and try and find one with a heart though.

It shouldn't be hard. Apparently repugs are stupid and willing to believe any lie, so we may have to avoid the truth (j/k). Use sound logic and have facts in support of your argument and avoid using repug tactics like calling people stupid like I did above (at least not to their faces).

I haven't been able to look a repug in the face since Nov. 2nd, and have been avoiding family/friends/co-workers at all costs. We need to stop doing this and make them face their false repug beliefs and understand how much damage they have done to democracy. Let's stop being pussies (like I have been, and many others like me) and be proud to be Liberals again. Nail them with facts everytime they spew some filth they heard from Rush/Bush/Rove. We have to overcome blind faith with truth. We have to MAKE them see what's really going on right in front of their noses. Speak freely (while you still can) and often. Don't be afraid of hurting someones feelings. The truth often hurts.

Sorry for my rant, but change always starts at home. Screw 2008. Our time is now.

We should protest by wearing

We should protest by wearing a black burka. Symbols of mourning and oppression.

Personal Protest

I intend to start flying my American flag upside down from the day the jerk is illegitimately placed into office and continue to fly it that way until his sorry butt is carted off in handcuffs.

I've seen some upside down flags since the war...

On my block one day, in a Muslim (American) car service that I use from time to time, I noticed one day the upside down flag in the window. At first, I thought, man do they have nerve, but then I saw a few others, and I thought it was a good idea, but I expected Homeland Security to bust the place open and shut it down, they have since removed it from the window, but I am sure they have it upside down someplace in their office, it just cannot be seen by the public.

There is an idea

There is a good idea...honestly, these are all good ideas. If you can, don't buy anything on Inauguration Day. If you have to buy things, find another way to protest. Wear black. Wear red. Don't wear anything. Sport the flag upside down. Lower it to half mast. Wear a burka. Whatever you want to do, do it. Get together and figure something out. Just make sure to do something.

Empower yourself

I agree with orangehat. Do anything that empowers you. I have been feeling so blue, literally, that I have been despondant. Today I felt more energized about the idea of buying nothing during inaugration week, it perked me up. Just do something that helps energize yourself so that you will be more empowered to help with other things.

Thought of an addition to the name today. spend not one RED cent, not one DEM dime. I'm pathetic I know.

Thanks peacebird for the initial post. I, at least, am greatful for your idea.

how about this

How about if we made a list of all the places like McDonald's and Wal-Mart and the others on that list that gave all their money to the Repugs in the election and get millions to boycott JUST THEM for a whole week that way their would still be a few places we could go for everyday needs. That would make it easier on everyone. Or how about we pick the top five corporate sponsors on the Repug list and agree not to buy anything from them again until they quit promoting facism?

Good idea

That is also a good idea...boycotting them for a week is good. Boycotting them for good is better. The best is when you boycott them until they change, but still don't shop there because you don't want to.
My first day on the job at Target, they told us that if a person has a positive shopping experience, they'll tell one person, maybe two. If they have a bad one, they'll tell at least ten people, usually more. We can use that ratio to our advantage somehow...I'm not sure how, it's almost 5 am.

Great site to visit

Pass the word. This is more than red/blue. Great information on social and enviromental concerns, brands owned, etc.
This site can not only help with blue and green shopping but to find responsible companies to invest in.

re: Geat site...

This is a MUCH better idea, don't punish every merchant, just the ones that support shrub. Help those that help us!
Take this a step farther. Write to the merchants on both sides, let those that support shrub know that they don't get your dollars, let those that support us know that they do get your dollars. Write letters to your local news paper editorial page publicizing your actions.

"I love God, but his fan club is freekin meshuggeneh!."

Coronation Day Protest

Not trying to be nasty, but this is a really poorly conceived idea for reasons others have already brought up (you'll have to buy more beforehand; many people can't afford to not go to work, which is what they'd have to do if they can't pay for the bus or subway that day, etc.)

Here's something that might be better. On CD, instead of sitting in your house or apartment holding a protest that might be well-meant but that will be ultimately useless, why not spend the day writing letters?

By writing letters, I mean writing letters. Not printing off the computer. Not using Microsoft Word and a mail merge program to slap out hundreds of the same thing. I mean take a few minutes, research the addresses of those corporations or political groups you are trying to reach. Include some news organizations while you're at it.

Send a hand-written letter. Print if you have to. Don't cross out. Pretend you are trying to impress the person on the other end with your ability to write a letter without it looking like a fourth-grader did it.

Start it off with something polite but firm like "I hope you realize that it takes time to write a carefully worded letter by hand, instead of just cranking out some generalized slop on the computer."

Then you can say something like "I'm writing because I disapprove of your corporation's policy of [torturing gnomes, eating the skin off the top of pudding, drinking from the milk carton, etc.]. I disapprove of it so strongly that I have decided that I will no longer purchase any product from your company until you change this [gnome torturing, pudding-skinning, milk-drinking] policy."

Remember, all the e-mail petitions you sign DON'T MEAN A THING. Wow! You click a mouse a couple of times. Big fat hairy deal. Do you think a politician reads those? Of course not. An assistant, during a briefing of the morning e-mail is probably asked something like this:

"Anything important? Anything I should be aware of?"

"A few people e-mailed in some petitions."

"For God's sake. I said important."

If you can't write a letter, can you dial a phone? Pick up the phone, call your politicians up and ask what they intend to do about some issue that actually matters to you. And don't just call out of the blue. Sit down and come up with some questions. Do some research.

Again, I'm not trying to be nasty with this. But I look at all the opportunities the Democrats lost to really stick to the issues and the substantive matters, and now we've got a country that's going to have four more years of policies that favor people who are already at the top of the pile. And we've got a Supreme Court that's about to age out probably four justices in the next four years. Those retirements mean that the SCOTUS will probably have twenty or thirty years of conservative interpretation. Think about that. I'm 36. I'll be close to retirement. Some of you will be dead of old age. The rest of your lives will be spent under a Supreme Court of young, healthy ultra-conservatives.

And you know what made that happen? A bunch of people who spend all their energy every day running around on the Internet thinking all their IMing back and forth mattered. The real power's out there. The real power's in the SOS' office in Ohio. And I'll bet you Blackwell doesn't spend ten minutes a day on his office computer unless it's to do actual work.

That's how you win.

Getting off my soap-box.

i respectfully disagree about the impact of internet activism

the internet has proven itself to be a great medium for activism. As for handwritten letters and as for phone calls, i have done both many many times and will continue to do so. these are effective means of communicating, as is the internet. i assure you that congress noticed when they rcvd so many internet generated faxes and emails that we shut down their servers. not only congress noticed, even msm commented on it.
the emails i send my reps in congress do count, and congresscritters DO notice the emails and the petitions they recieve, especially when they are inundated by thousands of them!
nothing could make this administration happier than for people to believe that their internet activism is useless. the internet terrifies them because they can't control the free flow of information. on the internet THEY DO NOT GET TO FRAME THE DEBATE. on the internet WE THE PEOPLE frame the debate, and that is what makes it a powerful medium. we get together, we share ideas, and then we act on them.
oh, and on coronation day i will be standing with my back to *, and i won't spend one RED cent that week, much less one DEM dime! (thanks Susanne!)

Not one penny for the pretender

I'll make a sandwhich and pancakes that week rather than eat out. I'll read rather than watch TV to save electricity. I'll walk when I can rather than spend money on bloody gas.

bush will always be a fraud.

Here's where I'm going to catch a lot of heat...

Two things.

First (and let me really dig the hole deep before you jump on me): Peacebird, combining the lowercasing with the ad hominem "congresscritters" and the like, well, I'm not trying to attack you personally, because I see many people do this sort of fast and loose typing on the Internet, but it's still a juvenile affectation that minimizes your credibility and sincerity.

This is, literally, the single most important event, politically, for decades. A second term for a president who is backed, for the most part, by people who have been so turned around by the mainstream media's inability to fulfill its role, that they don't even know who was responsible for 9/11.

And yes, I sound like a high school composition teacher, but how you write your message is just as important as what that message is. And someone who is trying to figure out a way to rationalize why or how Johnny went to Iraq and lost both legs, is going to look for the thinnest sliver of an excuse to ignore anything that someone might try to say about how, no, Johnny got taken for a ride. Few people want to admit, "Oh, yes, they surely did sucker Johnny good and proper. I guess I should be resentful that my little baby boy is now trapped in a wheelchair for the rest of his life and he has a hook for a left hand. Well, fool me once..."

The Bush team turned an inability to say more than four words in a row without tripping over them into "bluntness." They turned an inability to grasp or express complex issues into "straightforwardness" and praised Bush's "hands off" management style.

And where were the Democrats while this was happening? Digging through the dead past to try to disprove statements made by a batch of veterans who had an ax to grind against Kerry. Apologizing for Kerry looking long-faced.

That was all slick marketing. And every single marketing department worth a dime is going to say the same thing to these questions: Is spelling important? Is a professional presentation important? Do you sell the sizzle or the steak?

The damage that is going to be done (that has already been done) by the Bush administration is probably going to take decades to repair. The environment, the Supreme Court, civil liberties, women's rights, workers' rights, education, biodiversity, alternative energy sources, etc. The damage that Bush's team will cause to all these national interests is horrifying to contemplate.

And the ultraconservative "End of Days" crowd is loving it. These are people who think there's an invisible superbeing who lives in the sky! Do you think they have any interest at all in the environment? Heck, they're all about to be folded into the loving heart of Jesus.

I see two hopes for the non-conservatives.

1. A miracle occurs and Ohio is invalidated.
2. Damage control begins immediately.

And that damage control means that every time someone challenges Bush, or his policies, the challenge has to be civil and pure and mature. Only the issues. Whenever a media commentator of any stripe lets the topic wander, the non-con has to take the reins. Yes, Ms. Coulter, I look like I'm French. Fine. Now that you've had your fun, can we get back to the topic, which was the environment?

No funky spelling. No kewl typing becuz its just the Internet. This is deadly serious. A silent protest, that's good, because it's dignified. You know what else might be good? Everyone wearing a giant button every day from now on (something the size of a saucer) that says in big letters: "Iraq was not involved in 9/11. You have been lied to." Nothing cutesy. Enough with the puns about Bush's last name. Enough with the idiotic ribbons and moronic flags from every car antenna. If ribbons stopped wars everyone would be home by now.

And second.

You mentioned that the Internet terrifies the Congress "because they can't control the free flow of information" and "they do not get to frame the debate." You then conclude that the people "get together, we share ideas, and then we act on them."

Consider it this way. The people in Congress are the alphas. For the most part they had to fight long and hard and dirty to get into Congress. It takes money, connections, cronyism, a cadre of support staff to get you there, and once you are, everyone comes along wanting their favors.

No one in Congress is anybody's fool. (Or, if they are, they won't be in Congress for long.) The amount of dealing that goes on off the debate floor -- in restaurants, on phone calls, at dinner parties, etc. -- is obvious. Congress doesn't have to control the Internet; they control the vote. They've got the financing to run re-election campaigns. The Internet is, with exceptions such as massive scandals which would unseat a congressmember any, a lot like the office cafeteria. Lots of gossip, no power.

The Internet's biggest problem is that yes, people get together, share ideas and act on them. And some of those ideas are terrible. The ideas fly in the face of reality or aren't thought through. In Congress, making such a mistake can be fatal. On the Internet, oh well, back to the rest of our lives. That's the worst aspect of the Internet.

Someone has suggested an idea that has obvious, insurmountable problems. Those problems have been detailed by others. Even if you don't buy a thing on Jan. 20th, you'll have to buy something tomorrow or the day after. Even if you hold out a week, you'll need gas eventually. The number of participants will be so small that the effect on corporate bottom lines will be effectively zero. The idea simply will not work.

But here we are, expending energy to debate it. I like a good debate. This isn't a good debate. It is a pointless debate (and again, sorry, I'm not trying to pick a fight with anyone personally). You "like" the idea. Therefore it must be good. It is a bad idea because it will not work. Not only that, but there will be a small number of people who, having "done their bit" by participating in this pointless gesture, will not be there for the next gesture, which might actually be a useful significant one. 1,000,000 people showing up in Washington, D.C., to protest the war. That was effective. That had rallying potential. You can point to it. I was in D.C. at the time. I saw the effect. I doubt that pointing to a microscopic dip in a GNP chart is going to sway anyone. "Wow. 0.000001% loss in profit for one whole day!"

No one day boycott in history has ever worked. Boycotts work because they are protracted. And boycotts tend to be localized. The people fighting for civil rights in the south had to shun public transportation for over a year before they won. And that was just for a bus seat! But those boycotters made up a huge portion of the ridership of the bus system. They had a significant economic impact. Eating pancakes and sitting in your living room reading by candlelight is going to impress no one.

Democrats need to start thinking about ways to be effective. It has always been the party's biggest weakness.

Here's a suggestion. A friend sent it to me a while back. To commemorate all the troops coming home maimed, he suggests that the appropriate number of limbs be obtained from mannequins, and those mannequin limbs be laid at the gates of the White House. What do you think would happen if every single day, from now on, three or four Democratic activists had a ceremonial Laying of the Limb in front of the White House. Not just one day. Every day. From now on. Cameras, Webcast, interviews, dedicated Web site, etc. You'd have Democrats lining up for the chance to volunteer. Can't afford a trip to D.C.? Fine, someone's got to pay for the limbs. Donate part of the cost of a limb.

That's how you build awareness. Three or four different people walking through Washington D.C. every single day telling anyone who asks "When we're done laying this limb, symbolic of the limbs lost by American troops fighting Mr. Bush's ill-conceived war, at the gates of the White House, we'll ask the guard if we can talk to the President. If we're turned away, we'll go home and tell all our friends about how the president wouldn't face us."

Now go ahead, tear me limb from limb.

Letter Writing

You're right about the letter writing. As Democrats, we need to put our best foot, face and "pens" forward. The pen is mightier than the sword, but only if it is used professionally. Also, using bad language will get you nowhere with these people. Just stick to good old time writing, and just do it. It is effective. I have been active at this sort of thing for more years than most of you have lived.

Corporations do listen, and the jingle of coins and rustle of bills is the sweetest sound on earth to them. Organized resistance is most effective, and yes, prolonged resistance is best, but don't discount the effectiveness of one person when the cause is right.

no heat - we just disagree

when writing letters to the editor or elected officials i DO mind my p's & q's. i DO check spelling and i don't use "cutesy" affectations such as lowercase or all uppercase. when i post here, i write in an informal way because i feel here i am among friends, freely expressing ourselves. i do not feel the need to be "formal" or to write as if it were a thesis to be graded or judged by.
and, while you disagree, i do feel that the people here have come up with some great ideas. i will be standing - with my back to *, in silence. i hope many others will stand with their backs to him as well. and i hope many more will make their presence known with whistles.
i hope each of us finds a way to express themselves, a way they feel good about, a way that empowers them. and from there we work forward until america is again a place we can be proud to call home.

and my family and i won't spend one RED cent the week of the election, because it makes me feel GOOD just thinking about it. and hell - isn't that a good enough reason?

not one RED cent, not one DEM dime. off topic, and yet not really off topic - i ordered a wonderful bumpersticker today: Live Simply, so that others may simply LIVE.

Big picture, little details

If I learned anything in college (and I like to think that I did, hopefully, or I wasted a shitload of money for nothing), it is this: No matter how small an action, it has a reaction. Lots of small reactions have large reactions. Think about this: almost 120 million people voted in this election. It is a small action, in relative terms, but in numbers, it is quite a reaction. Even without numbers, any action has an effect. One person not shopping somewhere won't make much of a difference, but a few people will make a difference. It is all about the numbers, and small or large, they matter. A few hundred people's votes decided the 2000 election. Less than 50 is the deciding factor in Washington's Gubernatorial election. 19 people carried out the worst terrorist attack on American soil.
As far as boycotts go, even small amounts of people can make a large difference. For instance, a few years back there was a movement to boycott sponsors of Rush Limbaugh. While probably a few thousand people sent e-mails to sponsors, quite a few of the sponsors responded very soon saying that they were going to pull their advertising and that the apologized to the boycotters. It works. Honestly, telling people you aren't going to spend money is usually much more effective than actually not spending the money.

Dude, I hate Dell. Mainly because their machines are crap.

Apple computers are the best! I love my iMac G5.

Man, I feel totally friggin'

Man, I feel totally friggin' slimy because I just bought 2 Dells, a laptop and a new desktop. I knew they were scumbags, but I got my laptop for $970 (2.8G P4, burner, 512M) and the desktop for $900 (3.2G P4, DVD burner, 512M). There simply wasn't another deal out there like that, and trust me I looked for weeks.

What do I need to do for my penance?

Simple.....

1. Sign up with T-mobile as your cell provider
2. Working assets as your landline long distance
3. Sell every thing you ever bought from Amazon.com on EBAY, then
take the proceed to Barnes and Noble and buy 2 copies of every
Progressive book you can find, read one set yourself and donate
the other to a homelss shelter.

Go in Peace and may God forgive your sins!

you should call Dell support

you should call Dell support and bad mouth them. Then say a few hail mary's and drink broccolli and chicken broth soup, with chunks of stale bread. Oh and go to www.homestarrunner.com and check out all of its awesomeness.

You're killin' me

It'd be easier to donate a kidney.

1. Just before the election (and the ChooseTheBlue craze) I renewed my wireless with Alltel, which I think isn't all that bad. According to opensecrets.org, they contributed $6K, all to dems.

2. My long distance is with AT&T because my father is an AT&T union retiree and he'd kick my ass if I changed. I use my cell phone anyway for long distance since it's free.

3. I only buy from Border's (blue approved), and spent a buttload there this season.

As for the Dells, I'm hosed there. If it provides any solace, the margin on a $900 laptop and desktop has got to be very little (duck and cover). Forgive me...

Return them

Hey you have to do what you have to do, I know that seeing that dell logo everyday and then watching dubya's ceremony and realizing that my purchase directly help pay for the festivities (sic)............

Gotta make your butt itch don't it !!.................

regardless of who Dell contru

regardless of who Dell contrubuted to, I would still return them! Dell = poor quality! Now though I am an Apple fanatic, I do understand that Macs are pricey and not everyone can get one (I need it for my graphic design and web design.) So if I were to get a PC there are two options. Either buy all the components and build it myself, or buy one from a smaller computer manufacturer, like eMachines. Or if money isn't an issue, but you want a Windows based x86 machine go with Alienware.

Can't return them now, I've had them too long. I'll ask one of my kids to come over here and kick my shins for a few minutes as punishment.

I have to admit though, one reason I looked at Dell to begin with is that they weren't crap. My old machine is P3 500MHz and it's been rock solid after 5 years of letting the kids beat on it. You may be right though about the quality now, 5 years is a long time. Look at what has happened in our presidential quality in that time... Hmmm, coincidence? Come to think of it, I've yet to see Michael Dell and cokemonkey together at the same time.

Guess I'll have to brush up on my hindu in case I need to call tech support.

Ok I think our ranting on you

Ok I think our ranting on you is punishment enough. So save your shins from the torture. :)

NO NO..pull up the pants and expose those shins

That good idea but won't work

What will work is to boycot major oil companies, what we need to do is boycot say Exxon for a whole month, than move on to Shell etc. etc. 1 month at a time it would cripple them.

Shell appears to be reasonabl

Shell appears to be reasonable, according to ChooseTheBlue. I've started buying their gas lately even though it's more expensive and I have to drive a couple miles out of my way to do it. I also sent them a letter stating such. I think if more people did that and let them know why, maybe we could tilt them even more blue.
