Fannie, Freddie To Pay $210M In Bonuses
Government-Controlled Mortgage Giants Say They Must Pay Out To Retain Top Talent
Like the other financial giants, do they really need to bribe their employees in order to “retain top talent?” Surely, among those hundreds of thousands laid off in March alone, there must have been at least 40-50 who could have filled those jobs at Fannie and Freddie if their current “top talent” employees decided to quit in the midst of the worst job market in 25 years.
Are these financial companies trying to steal employees from each other? Isn’t their “top talent” the very same people who are, for the most part, responsible for this economic disaster? Am I missing something, or has complete madness replaced sound management?

Missing link.
I've had folks who make hundreds of thousands (PLURAL)of dollars per year in Corporate America bitch that a repairmen asked for a couple of twenty dollar bills for coming out to diagnose a household problem.
I've seen those same folks laugh deeply about job offers for under $200/hour because, in their words, that would be "CHARITY".
Until the dumb asses out there realize that some folks have a specific talent for garnering higher wages INDEPENDENT of their contribution to our Economy, we'll continue to have this mess.
You can thank the ass kissing, mid level Republican and Libertarian male, in particular for this. They get so pumped up on feeling superior to others they fail to actually check if their suppositions are correct.
The vast majority of innovative, productive, and brilliant folks do NOT require a large income in order to produce. A bit of cash is all it takes to motivate them. For goodness sake, they'll stay up all night working simply because they are so excited about their work.

P.S. Don't believe me? Run the experiment and see if the bigwigs decide to step aside for such a lowly paycheck and instead become a brick layer or mechanic.
Won't Catch Me...
Won't catch me up in the middle of the night working :)
LOL!

I like the comment from Senator Russ Feingold
regarding the AIG Bonus scandal,
( similar to the Fannie,Freddie Bonuses)
" I thought bonuses were paid for jobs well done".
