CITIZENS OF CONSCIENCE, it is unconscionable that George W. Bush, Richard Cheney and the other officials connected to the Bush White House that made up the "torture team" in the Bush administration should be permitted to get away with murder, torture and other war crimes that they approved, ordered, supervised and carried out during their eight years in office. Crimes of torture, criminal homicide of prisoners, the "extraordinary rendition" program and other atrocities constitute grave crimes. These violations of International and domestic law must be prosecuted. NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACCOUNTABILITY. The mechanism exists to hold these officials accountable for their criminal behavior and dissuade future government officials from engaging in torture, war crimes, warrantless surveillence of Americans, and other lawbreaking activities --criminal prosecution of those responsible.

According to a USA Today/Gallop Poll published in USA Today in February, nearly 40% of Americans favor criminal investigations of Bush officials for the torture policy, and another 25% favor non-criminal investigations.

CITIZENS OF CONSCIENCE, UNITE!!! DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY. HORRIBLE ATROCITIES --GRAVE CRIMES-- WERE COMMITTED IN THE NAME OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND WITH OUR COMPLICITY. IT IS TIME TO HOLD OUR OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE.

JUDGE BALTASAR GARZON, the distinguished Spanish judge who ordered the arrest of the former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, announced recently that it was "HIGHLY LIKELY" that his criminal investigation of former Bush officials for violating international law by the torture of prisoners would go forward and would lead to issuing of arrest warrants. LET'S JOIN IN SUPPORTING HIM AND URGING OUR STATE AND FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS TO DO THE SAME!
