First, I do not claim that there are not existing dangers in the world. We are all egoists and every entity wheather person, company, or government entity is continuously engaged in self preservation once created into existence. The fact is though "we" create these enemies to justify our existence.
For people , there is always that someone that is holding them down or in their way of success or something they desire. For the companies there must always be that competition which propels them to do whatever actions ensure their winning in enticing the most customers to come over to their product. In the intelligence community there must always be that entity which warrants suspicion to justify their need to spy on them and be given enormous funds, be they secret or approved, or even ill gotten to engage in this activity. And finally the military, who in conjunction with large corporations and the intelligence community must find enemies to justify wars which in turn justify their existence.
And this is done even to the point of sometimes needing to create and enemy to accomplish this task of justification and self preservation. Yes their are enemies in the world and most have been created by us.
If in fact you look into the history of most terrorist groups, they were either created by us or funded by us to fight other perceived enemies and we usually re-niged on some promise that in fact turned them on ourselves.
Fear in fact creates enemies to ensure our existance and justify our actions. So while we must be cautious we need not create enemies merely from fear or worse for corporate monetary gains. This is folly and can never come to positive ends. We have seen the enemy and he is us!

A mind once expanded can never return to its original dimensions.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.
