Why I'm voting for Obama

I'm voting for Obama for several reasons. For one, I'm sick to death of republican rule. I'm sick of the sleaze and the slim. I'm sick of the notion that we as a nation would rather have a president we can have a beer with than a president we can be proud of. I'm sick of everything the republican party now stands for. If I had 6 or 7 hours to spend writing here, I could maybe--just maybe-- explain all the things I hate about the republican party.

As much as I hate the republican party and everything they stand for, I love Obama, the democratic party and everything they stand for. I am a life long democrat, and have always voted that way. The way I see it is we basically vote for core principals. The party platform. Yet, the messenger of that platform often determines how well those principals are articulated. Obama has done a wonderful job explaining his beliefs, how he's going to help the country and where he stands on important issues. He's calm, controlled, thoughtful, honest, intelligent and respectful.

The Obama campaign: What a contrast to the McCain campaign. On one side you have hope. On the other you have fear. One one side you have intelligence; on the other you have knee-jerk reactions. On one side you see rising above the fray; on the other, you see dirt, slim, sleaze and unbelievable character assassinations. I am convinced there is absolutely nothing republicans won't do to win an election. Winning at all costs is what's important. To hell with your reputation and to hell with decency.

I am so proud and honored to vote for Obama. As a matter of fact, I've already voted. And I hope and pray the clear majority (popular and electoral) votes the same way.
