I'm new to this siteMy name is Jamie Tyroler - I'm a transgender writer from Kansas City, MO. I don't consider myself a Democrat, because most Democrats are too conservative for me - which is why AT&T will never face any criminal charges for listening to your phone calls or reading your email (they're only checking for certain words, like "terror", "Islam", or "freedom". Part of the reason the United States became a free nation was taxes on many common goods - our Founding Fathers and Mothers fought the most powerful nation on Earth at the time so they would have a government that listened to them (as long as you were white and owned property). Meanwhile, we have this Chinese-financed war in Iraq destroying our economy, people losing their homes, people unable to buy groceries or health-care, and about the best we seem to be able to come up with is, "Damn, gas is expensive!" or "Did you catch that couple on [fill-in the blank reality show]?" |

I'm new to the site too.
Hi all! I am a progressive Dem from Maine, active in phone-banking and canvassing. I supported Hillary as a delegate to State Convention and still support her. I am loosely considering writing her in on the ballot in Nov as I am unsure of Obama. He is still too much of an unknown entity for me at this point, more about rhetoric than a solid plan. However, I am a careful voter who looks at ISSUES and will certainly consider the party when I vote. I will NOT help in any way to seat McBush on King George's soon-to-be-empty throne.
think it through
Obana is your only choice if you don't want McBush ....a vote to merely show your anger or quell your fear is a gift to McBush ..that is how the republicans have won in too many elections ...because we could not get 100%
behind one person (in this instance Obama) who spoke for us.....or out of fear of the unknown .... we split votes for relative unknowns and weakened our own cause and guess who won. I am more afraid of McBush than any unknown and sticking together in this election is our only chance to close down that machine.
emotional choices
I am an old woman.
My mother lived to be an old woman. So what I am about to say is a very old saying.
One of the true-isms she left for me to ponder was
"Lois ... don't bite off your nose to spite your face"
Be careful that your reason for voting is for the good of the whole and leave your little self issues at the door when you enter to vote.
