Iraq War

Grand Picture - Restore the Republic...Long time Republican since Reagan.. Fooled by the Bush twice... The Republican Party left me!!!  But the Dem's will not change foreign policies either, which is CIA involvement in other governments that install US puppets that become murderous dictators. And close most bases over seas. Stop all foreign aid.  And how about something for me-- No IRS!  The only guy to pledge these and more is Ron Paul. So I guess the Dems will be aided with my vote.

Ron Paul...

...votes to take from the Winner and give to the Loser.

USA

The USA is murderous,in WW2,the Japanese tried to surrender for 6 months before we dropped the A-bomb,we had a president that wanted to test "our" new bomb,so we murdered thousands of men, women, children, pets, even the bugs in the air! In Dresden,Germany,we dropped a new fire bomb on the city,it exploded over the city, sending a huge fireball around the city,no one was burned, the fire was designed to suck the oxygen out of the air for about 5 minutes, long enough to kill everyone, every animal, anything that needs oxygen to live, dead. Kurt Vonnegut Jr.,a famous author, was one of the soldiers that saw the carnage and death and almost lost his mind because it was so horrible to see and comprehend these things. I was in the Marine's in the 60's,I found out out I couldn't do the things my fellow soldiers could do physically,on home on leave,I was hit from behind in a ca wreck, the Dr. found I had osteoarthritis, and that was why I was weak. I notified the navy Dr.'s of my Dr.'s finding's in a letter and x-ray's,I was informed I would be discharged with a medical discharge, all I had to do was get my company commander to sign off on me and I was homeward bound with a discharge to follow, when the marines found out, they trumped up some untruths about me to get me thrown out of the service with no benefit's,I spent 3 months in the brig(I wouldn't sign my benefits away)but after that many beating's and starvation, you'll sign anything, our government is good at that, remember the torture scandal? They will do it to their own people, think of what they will do to foreigner's! I can't get anybody interested in stopping this war,and the atrocities our congress is doing, spending all the money that is rightfully our's and our grandchildren, and what was started years ago. If this letter gets into some republican's hands,I'm dead meat,I'm dying anyway so I jump at the chance to see my Lord. God bless, and help do something about all this wrongness and hate(you know where hate comes from?)

Emory, you really need to get your...

facts straight when you discuss history.

The Japanese had not been trying to surrender and our troops, then in the field, were scheduled to invade the Japanese Home Islands. The bombs dropped did finally bring the war to a close and the GIs scheduled for the invasion(and to die in it)were able to come home to their families instead.

The 'fire bombs' you mention about Dresden were not special bombs--but the bombing of Dresden, like Hamburg, went on around the clock. The British by night and the American Air Corps by day. In both cities, Hamburg and Dresden, the fires were so intense that firestorms took place. But, again, not special bombs.

Few people know that it was Winston Churchill who wanted to burn every German city to ashes at the end of the war. We would not go along.

Sorry to hear that you've had some tough breaks.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.

History

Submarine   USS Wahoo  ss238

While standing on the deck of the USS Missouri 11October 2007
I still know that the use of the 2 atomic bombs, while
tragic, were a necessary evil at that time.
The Japanese Army was in control, and contrary to some peoples beliefs, they were NOT going to surrender.
Admiral Spruance was in charge of planning for operations Olympic/Coronet, the invasion of Japan in November 1945.
The 3rd fleet commanding by Admiral Halsey was getting hit
by kamikaze's every day, how long could our Navy go on with
that many casualties?
The decision was a right one, and we are all here today because of it.
