Throwing red meat to the base and revealing republican corruption
I was in attendance for the CNN presidential debates here in Las Vegas, NV on November 15th. The crowd was energized and the excitement is mounting. My question is can we keep the momentum going?
One of my major concerns is why are the Democrats not attacking when the republicans or Bush says something as stupid as "the democrats are spending like a college student with a credit card"? Simply comparing the current debt our nation has encountered under this regime would suffice as rebuttal but I have not heard one democrat leader counter Bush's assertion that somehow Democrats are responsible for excessive spending. I think the democrat base wants a bit of red meat much like the "spending" assertion that Bush throws the Republicans. We have got to learn how to fight as dirty and mean and nasty as they do otherwise we end up looking like a bunch of babies unable to stand up against the bullies.
We better grow some cohunes if we are going to actually win in 2008. Otherwise we will all be setting back on our butts wondering what happened again. We have great candidates running and we have many who are sincere in their desire to lead and make a difference and bring America back to the glory of days past but unless we get some back bone we just aren’t going to get there. One of the major issues that I think our democrat candidates need to reveal is how much money has been handed out to Bush's "Faith Based Initiatives". This is criminal; first point but why are they not talking about his failure to maintain separation of church and state? I want that stuff stopped.
These churches have used that money against people in trying to pass laws against abortion, same sex marriage, and those fights have been paid for with our tax dollars. NO FUNDING should ever be given to "Faith Based Religion of any sort what so ever" Come on Democrats you know our issues stand up and speak out! Enough of allowing these religious zealots to run our lives, teach our children their dogma, and domination of our values. We have values that represent all the people not just the religious extremists sanctioned by the Republicans. Faith is a great thing. Practice it at home and at church but keep it out of our government.

Why Are We Not Shouting This From Every Rooftop?
"THE PARTY WITH THE BEST RECORD OF SERVING REPUBLICAN ECONOMIC VALUES IS THE DEMOCRATS, AND IT ISN’T EVEN CLOSE!" -Michael Kingsley-
1). FEDERAL SPENDING: since 1960 Republicans increased Federal Spending by 71% more than have Democrats
2). FEDERAL DEBT: since 1960 Republicans have increased the National debt by 100% more per year than have Democrats.
3). GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT: since 1921, adjusted for inflation, Democrats outproduce Republicans by 43% . Starting in 1940 the Democratic advantage is 23% better.
4). REAL PER CAPITA INCOME: since 1960 Democrats have outperformed Republicans by 30%. (This is perhaps the most important economic statistic of all)
5). INFLATION: since 1960, Democrats outperform Republicans 3.13% to 3.89%
6). UNEMPLOYMENT: since 1960 it decreases in an average Democratic year by 0.3% to 5.33%, and increases in average Republican year by 1.1% to 6.38%.
7). JOB CREATION: from 1945 to 2003, Democrats produced 174,200 jobs per month, Republicans have only produced 60,600 per month. Every time a Democrat succeeds a Republican, job creation soars. Every time a Republican succeeds a Democrat job creation plummets. NO EXCEPTIONS!
8). DOW JONES AVERAGE: since 1921 the DOW has increased by 52% more under Democratic administrations
9). THE BOND MARKET: since 1940 the value of 10 year Treasury bonds rose 1.2% under Democrats and fell 0.5% under Republicans

But Mike...
Blacks, Liberals, Gays, Mexicans, VOTE REPUBLICAN!
Those Republican "counter arguments" are something else.
;)
Jim?
Don't include me in your groups, I'm never stupid enough to vote republican.
mommapanther
Nah...
...I meant that regardless of the merits of the Democratic argument, Republicans simply point to whatever new group they can, and blame THEM for the nations woes.
I'm not sure why, but that's always enough to get some voters voting FOR Republicans.
I think we are now on Illegal Immigrants as Gays where already used in the last election cycle ;)
