What are Tom Delay and Karl Rove Up to Now?

I had a friend who called needing information on what Delay is up to.  I guess because we live in Texas she thought I would have up to date info......

Delay and Rove are trying to get Kay Bailey to run for Governor, AG Abbott to run for Lt. Governor and Perry would run for Senate.  LT. Gove. Dewherst is out of their loop and all hell is breaking lose, because they cannot control Dewhurst.  Their main goal is the voter id issue, in Texas in the next session and nationwide.  They are up to no good, people are keeping vigil but Delay and Rove are all over the map and we better get everybody on board to fight them at every turn.

Nothing is happening on the legal end, and according to my source he will probably get off....the SOB....so he is out there running wild and declaring war on the Democrats.  Our court system here are religious right republicans and they are going to let him off.  Delay has promised that the GOP will take his district back.  He has also declared war on the Democrats, just continued his declaration.  He and Rove are backing this Voter ID issue to prevent people who would normally vote Democrat to have their vote taken away because they will not have the proper ID.

I do know from making a few calls that he and Rove are deeply involved in making sure that the Voter ID issue that is on the front burner is established.  For those who don't know this new attempt to steal the 08' elections states are trying to make it mandatory that all voters have a certain ID in order to vote.

In Georgia, Tanner with the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Dept., approved move in Georgia.  Obama asked for his resignation this past week.

The Voter ID is nothing more than a poll tax.  Pure and simple and we should all be very up to date on where this law exists in every state.  It will disinfranchise seniors, minorities and the poor from voting if they do not have the specific ID necessary to cast a vote.  Georgia election officials said these ID's would be provided free, only catch is this......there is only one place in the entire state, one location to get this ID.

Indiana has passed the same law requiring certain types of ID to vote, it is now before the Supreme Court (Indiana is a test case) and we all know how the Supreme Court will rule.  I assume they know that the Diebold trick can't be used again so now we have new Voter ID restrictions.  The Democratic Party cannot pay for the voters to get the proper id's they will need to have in order to vote.

This topic has been swept under the carpet, but it is time that we all do the necessary research to see and understand how this could derail our party in 08'. I hope that someone who is part of this site who has more connections can help get this issue out on the front burner.  Every Democratic Chair of ever state should be on top of this.  The GOP cannot win unless they cheat in some way and this voter id is going to help them in the states that have already passed the legislation.

Rove and Company are working on Voter ID on a national level.  Again, for emphasis, this is a poll tax and if the states implement this the Democrats will lose alot of votes from seniors, minorities and the poor.

And to close, the charges against Delay will go away......word is he will get off.  But in the meantime they, Rove and Delay are busy preparing for 08'.

WASHINGTON(AP) Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said Friday
the head of the Justice Department's voting rights division should be fired
for saying voter ID laws hurt the elderly but aren't a problem for
minorities because they often die before old age.

John Tanner's remarks came during an Oct. 5 panel discussion on minority
voters before the National Latino Congreso in Los Angeles. Tanner addressed
state laws that require photo identification for voting, saying that elderly
voters disproportionately don't have the proper IDs.

"That's a shame, you know, creating problems for elderly persons just is not
good under any circumstance," Tanner said, according to video posted on
YouTube. "Of course, that also ties into the racial aspect because our
society is such that minorities don't become elderly the way white people
do. They die first.

"There are inequities in health care. There are a variety of inequities in
this country, and so anything that disproportionately impacts the elderly
has the opposite impact on minorities. Just the math is such as that,"
Tanner said.

Tanner declined a request for an interview Friday to explain his remarks.

Justice Department spokesman Erik Ablin said Tanner had worked for the
department's voting section since 1976, the last two years as its chief.
Tanner's tenure also includes a stint in the White House counsel's office
during the Clinton administration.

"Mr. Tanner is an attorney who works to protect civil rights on a daily
basis," Ablin said, adding that the official had won numerous awards from
African-American groups. "Nothing in his comments deviated from his firm
commitment to enforce the law, and it is unfortunate that they have been so
grossly misconstrued."

In a letter to the Justice Department, sent Friday, Obama called Tanner's
remarks a disgrace and asked Acting Attorney General Peter D. Keisler to
dismiss him.
