starts: 09/06/2007 - 5:00pm
ends: 09/06/2007 - 8:00pm

On October 6th from 5PM to 8PM, there will be a celebration of the Constitution of the United States at Dogwood Dell. We the People, a Concert for the Constitution, will be a free party bringing together people who believe their constitutionally guaranteed rights are important.

There will be live music from fantastic local bands. Speakers will include David Swanson of AfterDowningStreet.org, Laura Flanders of The Nation Magazine and Air America, and Norman Solomon, filmmaker of "War Made Easy" and author of Made Love Got War.

On July 4th, Rain Burroughs and her daughter Summer were detained at Dogwood Dell by the Richmond City Police for exercising their First Amendment rights. Rain held a banner calling for the impeachment of Vice President Cheney. The Parks Department stated the banner "disrupted the patriotic theme" of the occasion.

We, and the Constitution, couldn't disagree more.

Come out to show your support for the Bill of Rights!

This will be a FREE event.
