Two years - since the names Katrina and its effects on the Lower Ninth Ward seared into the world's vocabulary, along with Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, and Fallujah, as one of the monstrous crimes of the Bush regime.

Two years - since the Bush regime allowed tens of thousands of people - mostly Black - to suffer, starve, dehydrate and die in the unbearable heat, humidity and toxic sludge of a flooded city.

Two years - in which tourist sections and a football stadium have been restored while public housing has been shuttered and surrounded with barbed wire, in which people trying to return to the projects have been evicted by SWAT teams, and the public hospital remains closed, never to reopen.

TWO YEARS TOO LONG - the verdict is in, with two Commissions finding the Bush regime guilty, guilty, guilty, of towering crimes against humanity. Bush Crimes Commission and International Commission on Hurricaines Katrina & Rita.

THIS FRIDAY WE WEAR OUR BRIGHTEST ORANGE AND DECLARE IT NOW!

WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN KATRINA!

We will walk down 53rd street to spread the impeachment message and will end with a speak-out and picnic in Harold Washington Park. Join students, artists and activists such as Lavie Raven (teacher and co-founder of University of Hiphop) and Carlos Perez (Immigrant Rights Organizer and Founder/Editor of Mayan Calendar News) to discuss why the Bush regime must be stopped now as well as what future we envision in its place. All Participants will be encouraged to speak out themselves and explain why they have chosen to "declare it now."

There will be a "Most Creative Way to Wear Orange" Contest.

Be determined. Be creative. Wear orange!
