America's Once-in-a-Lifetime Candidate

It is rare for someone to blow a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and then receive a second chance to atone for the mistake.  But it sometimes happens.

Next year, we get another chance to nominate and then elect a brilliant and practical visionary  to the Oval Office--Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich.  Despite being blacklisted by the mainstream media, and being given disproportionally less time in debates, Dennis blows the other candidates off the stage and exposes them for being the brainwashed warmongers they are.  And he does so not with deliberate intent but by simply telling the truth.

Right now we have a government of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations.  A Kucinich Presidency will signal a return to a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

It's now or never folks.  We can have a war with Iran, martial law here, RFID verichips implanted on us and the cancellation of the 2008 elections or we can have Kucinich.  The world cannot afford another four or eight years of another brainwashed warmonger in the White House.  This is the time to change it all and Kucinich will do it.

Those people who have been saying since 2003 "I really like Dennis Kucinich BUT I don't think he's electable" have only a few months left to wake up.

And to repeat, it REALLY IS now or never.

Using fear to promote a

Using fear to promote a candidate is a neocon Rovian tactic isn't it? Just out of curiosity, if your "doomsday" scenario is accurate, how will Dennis (or anyone else) be elected if the 2008 elections are somehow inexplicably cancelled? Do you expect Dennis to be appointed as president before the elections?

Frankly, I am anticipating another corporate "bought and paid for" Republican presidential win in 2008, because most of the current Democratic candidates appear to be unelectable. As long as the DLC, DSCC, and DCCC control both the Primary "selection" process, and the choosing of running mates, the best we can hope for, I fear, is more gains in Congressional seats by (hopefully) non-DLC candidates.

"bought and paid for"

Another fraudulent Republican corporate-puppet president is my guess too.   It's sickening to contemplate, but honesty compels me to.   I support Edwards, but he's no JFK, or  Howard Dean.   I like Kucinich  for his integrity and wish that the country was truly ready for a president with dignity and democratic vision; but I don't think it is.   I don't believe that there are enough Americans who want that.   I continue to think and feel that we're in this awful mess because most Americans put us here.  When I look past the liberal blogs and progressive movements, I see a citizenry that's still entrenched in conservative ideology, based on narrow religious ( puritanical ) principles,  which still thinks America is God's chosen country and that we really should be the only empire on earth.   A lot more suffering has to happen before people begin to wake up from this nightmare, something akin to the Great Depression.   All the Democrat candidates are talking into the wind, and what they say isn't changing the force of the country's consciousness, ...at least I don't see it happening.

Gordon Kobayashi, the threadstarter on this thread...

is certainly better mannered than the Kucinich Brownshirts he is allied with over at:

We tend here to keep track of people coming from the 'official' Kucinich sites because of their stormtroop tactics on other sites they attempt to take over.

Thank you Gordon, for not following the lead of Anita Stewart, et al, and attempting to be reasonable.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.

I completely agree Steve.

I completely agree Steve. The current self-appointed Democratic "leadership" (Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Rahm Emanuel, et al) are attempting to present a faux unified front of "improving America," vs. representing Americans. They are totally focused on elections and maintaining (or gaining) personal power, and are willing to forego their Constitutional obligations in order to win a political victory for themselves.

They believe that they know what is best for Middle Americans, and they have neither the time, nor the inclination, to actually listen to their constituencies. On the other hand, Middle Americans are already unified in opposition to the status quo of a government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations. Middle Americans voted for substantial change in 2006, and they have been completely ignored by this do-nothing Congress.

We no longer have patriots representing We The People, but professional politicians who represent only themselves and their financial backers. The US Federal Government has become one giant conglomerate aristocracy which views the Constitution of the United States of America as a hindrance to its continued existence. All Federal officials have forgotten that their sworn oath of office is to "support and defend" the Constitution, and not a political Party, the POTUS,  or special interests. http://www.apfn.org/apfn/oathofoffice.htm

Because the combined Congress of the United States is the only direct day-to-day voice the People have in their own representative governance, our only hope is to replace the special interest enablers in both bodies of Congress. These special interests include the fanatical religionist hawks, and the fascist-leaning, profit-motivated, corporatists. Until meaningful change in the makeup of Congress takes place, it will make absolutely no difference who is selected as the next president, or which political Party they represent.

Agreed

As someone who has thrown out the label of a political party. I agree 100%  all the folks in DC are worried about re-election and not the fate of the country.  I consider myself a conservative on most issues however who gives a crap anymore conservative, liberal, Republican, Democrat we all need to join together to fight this tyranny going on!  Martial law just a conflict away, unsafe vehicles given free run of our streets, foreign governments interferring with our affairs.  It has to stop and the only way the people of this country can stop it is to forget our party affiliation and be Americans.

Than what?

Southernmom what do you mean by forgetting our party affiliation and be Americans?

Just that!

Everything in this country has turned into Republican against Democrat or liberal against conservative.  This has to stop we are all Americans with one hopefully common goal!  To secure the future of this country for our children and grandchildren.   Everything is referred to as a Democrat or Republican issue!  Most of the elected don't know what that letter represents anymore.  To me a Democrat is someone who fights for the working class people, the ones who own land, have a job, and are trying to support a family.  The party of fair employment, fair trade and fair taxes.  As for a Republican they are more corperation, profit, and everything business.  However that line has been blurred they are all about profit, more taxes and "free trade" which just means jobs being outsourced or cheap labor being imported.  Bottom line more profit for them.

I hope this clears things up!  Or maybe I'm just ramblin"

Southernmom, you have just

Southernmom, you have just defined what is wrong with neoconservative politics as practiced by the so-called "leaders" of the Democratic Party. Rather than defining issues as either Democrat or Republican, we need to take back our respective Parties from the neocons.

Neoconservatism is just another word for corporate fascism, and both mainstream political Parties have been infiltrated -- the Republicans more so than Democrats because it fits their ideology more closely. The self-appointed Democratic "Leadership" Council (DLC) has been, from its beginnings, little more than a conduit for corporate "donations," and is therefore a neoconservative organization. Every Democratic candidate that the DLC has put forward has been in favor of NAFTA, and has backed the neocon PNAC-planned "war on terror."

Middle Americans are generally fiscally conservative, and socially liberal -- the very foundations of what the Democratic Party has supported since the New Deal. By being silent and apathetic, real Democrats have allowed the neocons in both Parties to denigrate the word "Liberal" to a degree where it is equated with being unpatriotic. Nothing could be further from the truth, as our Republic and its Constitution were founded on Liberal Principles: Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. See this link for an explanation: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/9280/solns3.htm

So, I agree with your reasoning, but not your solution. Middle Americans must take control of their respective political Parties back from the neocons among us, and then agree to disagree. This will require the courage to forego blind patisanship, and the will to remove professional corporate-owned politicians from both political Parties.

I am proud to be an American Liberal Democrat, and I want my Party back!

Can I ask a question? What happened to Bob Fertik's blog?

Been working the campaign trail for my candidate and did I miss something?  What happened to Bob Fertik, I enjoyed his common sense almost as much as Obama's.

i will vote for him

he is the only one who really speaks for me. i love to listen to him and i BELIEVE him. pretty rare in politics.

i have a feeling that if Clinton gets the nomination the democrats will lose the presidential election...again. the other candidates, i think, are going to get buried by the republican machine. chewed up and spit out. the only one i think that can handle that sort of treatment and still come out smelling like a rose is Kucinich. i feel he has the experience, the knowledge and the integrity to win america over if he was actually taken seriously by the media. dude has charm and wit and is as sharp as they come. i see him chewing up any and all of the republican candidates easily.

i'm sure i am living in a dream world(it's a great place BTW)but what is america if not the land where dreams come true?

Kucinich for President

I agree with Gordon that so far Dennis Kucinich is the person I'll support for the

Presidency. I disagree that the public is conservative. I think apathetic is the operative word. That's where we come in. Door to door, house to house, INFORM the folks! The internet is by far the best way to get through to the majority, but face to face is most effective. We can't stop election fixing without paper ballots. But we can make it harder for them by rallying our friends, neighbors to back Kucinich. I remember when the darkhorse Jimmy Carter emerged out front. Times were much like this. Uncertainty, no firebrand on the horizon. Carter was fresh, new and honest. He didn't have the baggage the other candidates had. It worked.

I think Kucinich has a good chance to win the primary. Clinton and Obama may neutralize each other with their infighting. If K. can get Bill 333 passed he'll have a lot of friends  ( and enemies!)

I believe it is going to be

Clinton for Pres/Obama for vp and if they don't win by a landslide, they will still win.  Of course, Dennis Kucinich probably is my choice in terms of who has the most integrity and works the hardest for what I believe needs to happen.  However, if I am correct and it is Clinton/Obama, it will be a huge relief for this country and the world.  Change may be slower than progressives would like to see, but there will be change and it will be a huge, collective sigh of relief.  It may not be easy because of Repuglican tricks of all kinds, but progressives will also gain seats in the House and Senate, and that will help as well.  You heard it here, and if I'm wrong you can throw it in my face.  With almost any democrat in office, there will be more voice and chance for the Kucinich's of the world to be heard.  It will be a kinder, more compassionate administration.  Believe me, people are fed up --- really, really, really fed up.  I just can't see it being a repuglican winning in 2008.  People have had it from all sides of the aisle.  The jig is up.

I Used to support Kucinich

But after what I've seen more recently.

It's time that we take back our country.

Getridofbush, As a libertarian, you prefer the Repugnant...

control and domination to the more people-oriented Democratic side of the aisle.

There is simply no comparison between Kucinich(who has his heart in the right place)and the wacko fundie nut(anti-choice, anti-union, homeschooling, prayer in school and all the other nonsense)Ron Paul. Oh yeah, he is from Texas as well.

Geez, even as a Libertarian, haven't you had enough of the diddling and criminal element in our government?

Suggest you do some deep research on Paul--he is an example for no one and certainly is no liberal.

If you choose to do so, many of our members will be happy to debate you on the comparison between Kucinich and Paul.

If things don't change drastically

If things don't change drastically between Obama and Hillary you won't see them both on the same.

Whooa Wisewoman

You state "with almost any Democrat in office, there will be more voice.." etc. But didn't we vote a passle of Democrats in to Congress only to have them sit on their butts? We need an honest, ethical President who really represents us. Not just in speeches. If we are willing to settle for less, that's just what we'll get. I think Mickey Mouse could beat the Republicans in '08. So let's go for the gold and not 'settle' for anyone.

I am SO GLAD to see that

I am SO GLAD to see that there are PLENTY of other Dems who feel the way I do about Hillary...   I just cannot support her as the Democratic Nomination...  however, I think whoever the Nomination is should choose her as a Vice President.

I am hoping with all my heart that either Edwards or Obama wins the nomination... as much as I like Kucinich the mainstream media spends so much time trying to make him look "fringe" that I don't think he can win. I would fully support him if he did though, he's one of the few candidates with the balls to tell it like it is...  and the smarts to call for the impeachment of Cheney rather than Bush.
