This is an update of what happened last Thursday at Congressman Blumenauer’s office on

19th of July.

We started to gather about 11:30, I was first, then others came. By 1230 there were 15 to 20 people who came to tell Blumenauer that they wanted him to call for the impeachment of Bush and his Dick.

Chapter 72 came, it was good to see Grant and Malcolm. They brought their wonderful Peace Flags, and with the wind the flags flew with great majesty.

I gave my letter to Blumenauer’s staff and said we would be outside for about two hrs. Others also had letters which was great---one by one we delivered our mail.

The people in the area did not know what to make of this band of protesters outside of the congressman’s office. We explained what we were doing and would continue to do until Blumenauer sees the light and says enough. Impeach the SOBs!

This was DAY 1----Each week I will add 7 days to the count and the number of the dead both American and Iraqi to show what the “Watch and Wait” position by the dems has cost us for those seven days.

There were pictures taken and I am sure they will get posted; this is a big thank you to all who came and all who e-mailed me to say they were with us in spirit and will come in the coming weeks.

Try to call Blumenauer’s office next week and be respectful but ask about impeachment, this is not a sprint race. See ya next week!

Dear Congressman Blumenauer:

I am one of your constituents and plead with you to follow the wishes of the American people and join in the effort to begin investigations and impeachment of G.W. Bush and/or Dick Cheney.

I know your position well; you have made it clear that as your boss, Speaker Pelosi has said, “Impeachment is off the table….” You must re-think your position.

I will not insult you by listing all the charges against this man who calls himself president, you are aware of them.

I will be outside your office in Portland every Thursday to await your announcement that Impeachment is back on the table and moving with as much speed as possible.

The reason Congress’s approval rating is dropping like a rock is because we sent you back to stop this lunatic and you and your colleagues have disappointed us by watching and waiting.

My next move on Blumenauer will be to deliver a letter dated July 26,

the eighth day of waiting for his reply to our request. In the letter will be a new request that he set up a Town Hall meeting during the month of August, and debate a member of the Peace Community on the “Impeachment of Bush and/or Cheney.”

If he agrees we will assist in any way possible to arrange the place, time and who will represent us at the debate. If he does not respond by August 9, we will set up a town hall meeting and debate an empty chair. We must keep the pressure on all the Oregon Delegation to represent us and the rest of the American people who have now said in the latest polls---Impeach!

All of you who are coming next Thursday at 1200-2:00 PM please bring your own letter concerning your request/demand that he hold a town hall meeting on Impeachment. Those who cannot make the protest call and/or e-mail the congressmen on the above issue.

Each week, more and more dictatorial mandates are coming out of the WH---We must stop this psychotic sociopath as soon as possible. He can do great damage in the coming 18 months.

I will be working on my letter over the weekend, any suggestions or criticisms are more than welcome.

Let me get this out concerning future actions.

This is a draft of my letter to be delivered to Blumenauer’s office on the 26th, let me know what you think.

Dear Congressman Blumenauer,

We have been waiting now for 7 days since we petitioned your office in Portland. Our request on 19 July was straightforward; we want you to support impeachment of the President and/or Cheney.

During your time of watching and waiting, the following things have happened:

The death toll for US soldiers has increased from 3,625 to ------(add on Thurs)

The number of wounded has increased by ---------(add on Thurs)

The number of Iraqi killed and wounded is somewhere around 5,000

The number of Iraqi displaced is about 2,000 per day; about 3 million have left Iraq.

The cost of the war has increased by $2,000,000,000

The number of people hating Americans has increased.

The President has taken away more of our civil liberties.

Congressman Conyers has indicated if he had a few more votes he would start impeachment hearings on Cheney. All of this and more in 7 days.

We now find ourselves in a position that our congressional representative refuses to listen to his constituents. We say by an overwhelming majority to impeach and you say---No!

We now demand that you set up a Town Hall meeting and debate a member of the Peace Community concerning the impeachment of Bush and/or Cheney. We will assist in any way we can, however if you choose to ignore us we will set up our own debate and you will be represented with an empty chair with your name on it. This Town Hall will take place in the month of August, you must reply by August 9 or we will consider that once again you have refused to deal with this overshadowing event.

Last week there were 15-20 activists representing peace groups in Portland and members of the community who took time away from their jobs, families, or other projects to let you and your staff know that we are “Pissed!”

We expect you to protect our republic, your watching and waiting is unacceptable and cannot stand.
