The National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance (NCNR) and the Declaration of Peace will gather in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill on September 20, 2007 to demand an end to the war and occupation of Iraq.

The National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance (NCNR) is establishing a working group to take on the responsibility of organizing and fully promoting the Sept 20th event: Rivers of Blood - A Day of Non-Violent Resistance on Capitol Hill.

Join us as we remember all the victims of the immoral and illegal Iraq War. Let us Speak Truth to Power and remind the decision makers of the folly and human cost of continuing to fund the war.

Pete Perry of the Washington Peace Center invites everyone across the nation dedicated to nonviolent social change and getting us all closer to an end of war and occupation in Iraq to first do some actions earlier in the week in their home districts, and then come to DC for the 19th and 20th.

Hundreds of activists from around the country will engage in nonviolent direct action to END THE U.S. WAR ON IRAQ. Come to Capitol Hill to demand that our legislators accept the mandate of the people.

The evening of the 19th will include a logistical and legal briefing. And the 20th will involve a nonviolent civil resistance action. That week General Petraeus is scheduled to make his report and there will be various pieces of legislation having to do with Iraq on the House and Senate floors.

If you are planning on coming to DC drop me a line with your name and phone number.
