Hopefully you've circled Saturday August 4 on your calendars to come join us on the Brunswick Mall for our Third Annual Peace Fair.

Sheila Garrett will also talk about her peace walks. Marji will offer people a chance to dress peace dolls.

Listed below are the "Conversation Cafe" dialogues that will happen on that day.
11:00 – 11:50 "Iraq War Stories: Military Families Speak Out" Stephanie Slocum, Richard Clement, and Gretchen Kamilewicz, all parents of sons who served in Iraq, will tell their sons' stories about their combat tour in Iraq and their re-entry into civilian life. All three young men now suffer from injuries sustained in war. Stephanie, Richard, and Gretchen will take the conversation in a direction that is most helpful to those in attendance.

12:00 – 12:50 "Election 2008: What is a Peace Voter to Do?" Mary Beth Sullivan from Peaceworks will facilitate a conversation about how to engage responsibly in the 2008 elections process.

1:00 - 1:50 "Americans Who Tell The Truth" Maine artist Robert Shetterly will discuss his portraits that take us through history, highlighting those courageous enough to speak the unpopular truths of their time.

2:00 – 2:40 "Bread for the World" Ted Bradbury will facilitate a conversation of hunger and poverty in the world. What are some of the causes? Why is it important for all of us that it be alleviated? What can we be doing? Bread for the World is a faith-based organization advocating with the U.S. Congress on behalf of the world's poor and hungry."

2:45 – 3:30 "Other Economies are Possible! Organizing Towards an Economy of Cooperation and Solidarity" Ethan Miller,with Grassroots Economic Organizing, shares a deep vision for social transformation and his call to action from his work as a young writer, musician, subsistence farmer and organizer.
