As I hear the all too familiar drum beats of war, this time with Iran, I believe that Congressional leaders must change tactics and make IMPEACHMENT of both Bush & Cheney the new priority.  There is nothing more important now than removing these megalomaniacs from office. It is irrelevant if they will or will not ultimately be convicted in the Senate; it is however extremely relevant that we tell the World, LOUD AND CLEAR, that these warmongering autocrats are no longer recognized as the leaders of our Democracy. We must stop enabling this reckless administration and their profiteering, self-serving policies.

The President and his obstructionist Republican cronies have derailed 10 of the last 11 appropriations bills and have resisted even the suggestion that we EVER leave Iraq. The recent Presidential Veto of the S-Chip Expansion bill due to the increase cost, while his Iraq war wastes many times that amount daily, is the most glaring example that the President’s detachment from reality. Since he is determined to hold up all legislation that the majority of Americans support, impeachment is the only option left.

The President and Vice President have broken MULTIPLE laws and violated SEVERAL Constitutional Amendments. Here are just a few; The President authorized false evidence be given to Congress and he lied to the American People in his State of the Union speech, resulting in our ILLEGAL invasion of Iraq. This is clearly DOCUMENTED in the British Downing Street Memo which verified that President Bush fixed intelligence to support his plans, regardless of the truth. Also, the President’s and Vice President’s implementation of an illegal wiretapping program that clearly violated the FISA Act and BEGAN PRIOR to the passage of the Patriot Act, which has finally been adjudicated and found to be illegal too. Not to mention, The Vice President’s treasonous involvement with the outing of an undercover CIA agent.

Americans must not be held hostage until January 2009 by these zealots. This President forfeited his credibility when he declared that he respected the opinion of his DOG over the will of the American people and he has made it abundantly clear that he will NEVER change his policies in Iraq. With that same undeterred certitude, he has all but declared war on Iran. He has said many times that he will not leave office with Iran being able to develop Nuclear Weapons. I have NO doubt that, even though Iran is years away from achieving such capabilities, he will succeed in provoking a confrontation or encouraging our allies to do the same. This man and those who follow his deluded World Vision have become the BIGGEST threat to our Democracy. There is no more obvious proof of that, than the appointment of a “War Czar”. Our nation was founded on the principles of PEACEFUL, law abiding coexistence amongst our citizens and the citizens of the world. Democracy can only be spread by example, and we are no longer that example. The foundational change in our foreign policy that allowed for a preemptive war, undermined our moral leadership and has lead us on a path of Imperialism which we will be unable to sustain.

The President and Vice President have violated their oaths to defend the Constitution rendering them ineligible to lead this great country. IMPEACHMENT IS MATTER OF PRINCIPLE AND A POINT OF LAW! We must stand up and exercise our Constitutional Duty to remove these illegitimate heads of State. We must deny them the privilege of completing their terms and any member of Congress who refuses to hold them accountable is complicit and should be impeached along with them!

Please, I implore you to do the right thing, right now,

WE THE PEOPLE of the United States,

President G.W. Bush unilaterally invaded a sovereign Nation, without the consent of “WE THE PEOPLE” through a Congressional Declaration of War.

 In order to form a more perfect Union,

President G.W. Bush repeatedly fights against legislation that seeks to protect civil liberties essential to “FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION” by insuring equality for all Americans.

 Establish Justice,

President G.W. Bush violated the 4th Amendment when he spied on American citizens without court authorized warrants, making him ineligible to “ESTABLISH JUSTICE”.

 Insure Domestic Tranquility,

President G.W. Bush neglected his responsibility to “INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY” by not protecting civil order in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina.

 Provide for the Common Defense,

President G.W. Bush’s policies have radically weakened the National Guard’s domestic readiness, rendering it incapable to “PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE”.

 Promote the General Welfare, and

President G.W. Bush has de-funded and/or eliminated institutions that are essential to “PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE” of all Americans.

 Secure the Blessings of Liberty to Ourselves and Our Posterity,

President G.W. Bush has enacted laws that infringe upon the “BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY TO OURSELVES” to make private medical decisions, including the “Liberty” to decide if and when to create “OUR POSTERITY”.

 Do Ordain and Establish this

Constitution for the United States of America.

The Constitution establishes the supreme laws essential to govern the Republic and protect its citizens from tyrannical rulers. Interpretation of the laws, We the People, “DO ORDAIN AND ESTABLISH” can not be superseded by an Executive Signing Statement.
