Poll: 54% Want Cheney Impeached
A new poll conducted by http://www.americanresearchgroup.com finds that 54% of American adults want the US House of Representatives to begin impeachment proceedings against Vice President Dick Cheney, including 76% of Democrats, 17% of Republicans, and 51% of Independents. The same poll found 46% of voters in favor of the same thing for President George W. Bush, including 69% of Democrats, 13% of Republicans, and 50% of independents.
The poll also asked about Bush's commuting of I Lewis Scooter Libby's sentence, and found that 31% of Americans approve, and 11% would approve of a full pardon.

Nancy Pelosi has violated her sworn oath of office!
Nancy Pelosi has done far more to make irrelevant and castrate The Democratic Party than any right-wing power or any media spin could've ever hoped to have accomplished.
Nancy Pelosi has given safe sanctuary, aide, and comfort to the repulsive Richard Bruce Cheney and other administration officials who are, in fact, serial liars, torturers , War-criminals, War-profiteers, and willful & repeated violators of the U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights. This is the ultimate act of political weakness and cowardice, but it is even worse than that. This direct impedence & obstruction of the very natural machinery of justice, that is supposed to serve as a check and balance on our government, makes her herself a willing accomplice to all of these high crimes.
Pelosi has refused to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.
In her mentally feeble and cowardly mind, "the Constitution is just not worth it." Pelosi would rather stand up and defend her supposed right to personal convenience & comfort, while the whole World burns before her and our Nation is dragged into a state of unelected Totalitarian Dictatorship, than she would ever stand to defend our Nation's Laws, abide the will of the people, and uphold her own sworn oath of office.
This conduct itself displays the same type of utter contempt for the U.S. Constitution as you might expect from no less than Dick Cheney himself. This conduct is an affront to her sworn duty and itself worthy of impeachment. We must start a campaign to fire Nancy Pelosi from the job which she thumbs her nose at every day and refuses to do as the death toll mounts and our freedom & Constitutional form of government is systematically stripped away from us.
The Democratic Party must have leadership that puts the public interest and the very protection of our Nation's Laws & Constitution before selfish personal comfort and it must refuse to give safe sanctuary to violators of our Constitution, criminals, and those who corrupt our Nation in a sea of blood, public debt, lost liberties, & death.
Nancy Pelosi will not lead. She is a proven embarassment and a disgrace. She has failed the Country.
We must act to start a campaign to put in someone very different, such as Dennis Kucinich, as the Speaker of the House who actually will.
We are their bosses and not the other way around.

I applaud the American's that stood up on voting day and put Democrats back in the House and Senate! That is an accomplishment that we are, or should be, proud of! You have to remember, there are other forces that play into this. Sometimes, there is simply not enough votes for us yet to get something accomplished.
No, don't yell at me yet! Please! Give a Dem a right to speak please. We all have been poisoned by the satan dub that is in the office not to mention the satan that he has as his so called archangle of death! Look around you and listen to the general populas, dems and reps, not too many people like what is going on. I live in GA and unfortunatley, like so many states in the south, they have gone repugnant on us! We have to win the populace back all over the country! We can not do it by spewing hate, which I constantly email Rush that he is doing! Get on the bandwagon....his address is www.rush@eib.net! F*cker has blocked me so have to use other adderesses to get my point across! They only want to hear what they preach.....dub is God and they do nothing wrong! Yes, we are all pissed as hell but we have to do this in a structured way. Make sure we cover our behinds so to speak.
I agree, 100% that the f-wads need to be impeached! Both of them! Can we do it? NO! Not enough votes but keep adding folks to Dennis Kuchinich's articles off Impeachment.....maybe! Yes I support it! Ask again, can we do it? Yes we can! If we get it brought before the house and congress and there is enough support, the bastard will resign, just like Nixon, before being brought before a trail of impeachment.
Don't hate the player Nancy just because she has her hands tied. She will, in time, have to give in, if we can all convince our elected officials to get on the band wagon. Yes, we are in power but our power is limited. PISSED! YES! WE ALL ARE!
The Democratic Party does not have to be divided or have a right or left wing to it you know. We need to collectively work to get our common goal........A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT!
Give the process a chance, besides, look what the other side has done lately to seal their coffin! Done Deal!

Nobody "hates" you, but like
Nobody "hates" you, but like many other misguided Democrats, you keep missing the point of impeachment. It is not about whether we have the votes to successfully carry out a Senate trial and removal from office -- it is ALL about starting the process, and presenting an indictment of the BA to the American People.
The mere act of introducing Articles of Impeachment, and beginning the process, will show that Democrats are listening to Middle American voters. That initiative, in and of itself, will go a long way towards putting some spine back into the makeup of Congress.
Impeachment is NOT a partisan tool which should be reserved for political gain -- on either side of the aisle. Introducing Articles of Impeachment is the right thing to do, and is mandated by the Constitution when "high crimes and misdemeanors" are even suspected. The impeachment process is only an indictment, similar to a Grand Jury investigation.
So, instead of focusing on whether we have the needed votes to remove these criminals from office, we need to focus on bringing charges, and uncovering motives behind anti-Constitutional "signing statements," encroachment of civil liberties through a sham "Patriot Act," spying on American citizens, no-bid contracts, missing Iraq war funds, lying to Congress and the American People, voter intimidation, partisan media proaganda paid for with taxpayer money, partisan influence in hiring and firing of government employees, and on, and on... Demanding the truth, is NOT "spewing hate."
The impeachment process by itself (not a trial in the Senate) can prevent further commutations of sentences (see Libby), and full pardons of future convicted criminals who are impeached. The Constitution provides that any government official who is impeached, can NOT be pardoned. This applies even if they are not removed from office.
Pelosi, Reid, and the DLC fully understand the differences between impeachment and removal from office, but they hope that you don't. They are two entirely different processes, and the benefits of impeachment to the country and the Constitution far outway the potential political drawbacks. These incumbent so-called "Democratic Leaders," are more concerned with being re-elected, than they are with the integrity of the Constitution, or voter's concerns. They are self-serving cowards, and deserve to be replaced. Demanding accountability from our elected representatives is NOT "spewing hate."
And finally, impeachment of the current top administration officials (whether they are removed from office, or not) is far more important to the country than who is elected as their replacements in 2008.
