Leaders of the Westside Greens, the Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles, and the Santa Monica Democratic Club will officially inaugurate an impeachment center to be followed by speakers who will address strategies and ideas relating to the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney.

Our goal is to urge Los Angeles City Council, Santa Monica City Council and CA State Congressional and Assembly Representatives to Pass a Resolution Calling for the Impeachment of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney.

Lawn signs, bumper stickers and other literature will be made available to all who attend. Volunteers will discuss tactics relating to both Impeachment and furthering the growing nationwide and worldwide peace movement.

The rally is being called by Los Angeles citizens to coordinate and formalize their urging and voicing their Los Angeles and California state political representatives that they should join 85 other cities that have approved resolutions calling for the investigation and impeachment of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney for high crimes involving abuse of executive power that include:

  • misleading the American public to wage the US war on Iraq;
  • issuing signing statements to override federal legislation on torture and other issues;
  • approving massive illegal wiretaps in violation of the Fourth Amendment;
  • suspending habeas corpus and Sixth Amendment due process rights in the indefinite imprisonment and torture of detainees.
