Monitoring Bush's Descent

Let's just hope that as he continues to spiral downward he doesn't take the country with him. (All the more reason to impeach him now rather than allow him to ride out the remaining year and a half he has left.)

Bush is hovering where he is due to his solid base...

you all know who they are: God, Guns, Gays, Anti-Choice fundie freaks.

The electronic churches are simply screaming their demands daily on the public airwaves.

George W. Bush has the lowest presidential approval rating in a generation, and the leading Dems beat every major ’08 Republican. Coincidence?

May 5, 2007 - It’s hard to say which is worse news for Republicans: that George W. Bush now has the worst approval rating of an American president in a generation, or that he seems to be dragging every ’08 Republican presidential candidate down with him. But According to the new NEWSWEEK Poll, the public’s approval of Bush has sunk to 28 percent, an all-time low for this president in our poll, and a point lower than Gallup recorded for his father at Bush Sr.’s nadir. The last president to be this unpopular was Jimmy Carter who also scored a 28 percent approval in 1979. This remarkably low rating seems to be casting a dark shadow over the GOP’s chances for victory in ’08. The NEWSWEEK Poll finds each of the leading Democratic contenders beating the Republican frontrunners in head-to-head matchups.

Perhaps that explains why Republican candidates, participating in their first major debate this week, mentioned Bush’s name only once, but Ronald Reagan’s 19 times. (The debate was held at Reagan’s presidential library.)

If 9-11 hadn't happened when it did

If 9-11 hadn't happened when it did bush would probably never have polled over 35%. It is pretty amazing what with the FAUX propaganda station beating the administrations drum all day every day, they still can't get reasonable ratings. It looks as if the "silent majority" has become the very loud minority.

Bush Approval Map: No Safe

Bush Approval Map: No Safe Districts for GOP

May 11, 2007

As long as Bush remains unpopular, there are no more safe Republican House seats. That’s the message I want to get across. But first:

It’s been a long time since I made a map of Bush’s approval ratings. But Bush has been holding steady at record low approval ratings for the past four months – I just had to see that lovely sea of blue spread across the country. The problem is, Survey USA is now doing 16-state surveys instead of 50-state surveys. So, averaging all the polls I could find over four months, and throwing in a few estimates, here you go, everybody:

Why the heck should we care about Bush’s approval ratings anymore? Because they could guarantee our majorities in the House and Senate. An explanation below.
