DIANE FEINSTEIN
Disturbing news, news to me that is - because counterpunch did an article on this over a year ago which I was unaware of. I am not seeing any coverage of this issue anywhere. If this is true, which I suspect it is, we can no longer just point the finger at the Bush crime family. And, if it is true that Pelosi accepted this blood money, or any other Democrat, they need to come clean, tell the truth, and return it.

I can't understand why you
I can't understand why you find it so hard to believe that Feinstein -- a dyed-in-the-wool DLC member -- would be subject to corporate influence. She is right up there with Lieberman, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Evan Bayh, and the rest of the neoconservative "New Democrats" of the Democratic "Leadership" Council.
I fail to see, however, how you have managed to connect Pelosi and other non-DLC Democrats to this shameful, but predictable, scandal.

My mistake, I apologize, that should have read Barbara Boxer. So far, recipients to date include: Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd. Maybe more will surface, so far Pelosi is NOT on the list.
I am so surprised because I thought well of Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer and John Kerry and Robert Byrd and even Ted Kennedy.
What is unbelievable to me is that not one Left leaning internets info sources that I know of, with the exceptions of Counterpunch & Metroactive have actively published anything about this. It is so hush-hush it is disgusting, I am disgusted and I feel betrayed. Especially since I voted for both Feinstein and Boxer.
What is even more ludicrous is Diane standing at the pulpit last week calling for Gonzalez to step down when her hands are dripping with blood money.
How many Dems do you suppose know about this? How many Dems read Counterpunch & Metroactive? Were you aware of this? How many Dems do you suppose know anything at all about this? I know for a fact, the folks over on Air America were enraged and shocked and disturbed by these articles.
Maybe I'm not as radical as you are, but I'm pretty radical, and I feel that if the Democratic Party does not take an active role in exposing this, we are all pretty much doomed.
And, while we're at it, I'm pissed off at both Hillary and Obama for kissing AIPAC's ass.

Marjorieann, no I was not aware of this newest scheme by Feinstein and others, but a majority of the members of Democrats.com are aware of the actions and dealings of the DLC. Thanks for pointing this out, and confirming that the DLCer-wing of our Party are NOT Democrats.
They are nothing more than neoconservatives who have infiltrated our Party under the guise of being "New Democrats." Most of these Republican-Lite traitors have voted in lockstep with Dubya, and the Rovian neocons in the Republican Party.
Unless we clean up our own side of the aisle, you are correct when you state that we can't lay ALL of the blame on the Republican neocons. As far as I know, Boxer, Byrd, and Kennedy are not members of the DLC, and I am surprised that they are involved in Feinstein's folly.

From what I'm reading, this has been going on for quite some time, and believe me, I am shell shocked. Also, I'm reading that Di fi's hubbie is involved with land deals in China. Now, I don't have the sources to back this up, but I'm hunting.
What a mess, and if we don't clean it up, the rethugs are going to to jump on us like Grant hit Richmond. But worse, of course, is as you say,and yes we have been blindsighted.

Too many professional
Too many professional politicians have adopted the stance that, "unless you are my geographical 'constituent,' I have no obligation to listen to you." You can even see this "disclaimer" on their web sites regarding responses to e-mail from non-constituents.
The current bunch of crooks in the White House have carried that premise further, and have made it a purely partisan proposition: "if you are not a Republican AND a Dubya lap dog, I have no obligation to listen to you. You are either with us, or you are against us."
In the spirit of the Constitution and of Americanism, once elected, ALL politicians (especially at the National level) represent ALL of the People, and we need to return to that premise.
We urgently need mandated term limits, and campaign finance reform. Professional politicians who become beholden to corporate pimps are the bane of democracy.
With our Blue Tsunami, we wash that corruption out of our hair
This is our vital weapon, when both parties are in agreeance with each other and against the people's will. We wash them out in elections, taking names and spreading the word of the treason on the people's house. All corruption and I mean All on both parties must be removed since we didn't vote for that.
They don't have the people's permission to turn our government into a corporate shadow, that darkens America's representation in the World.
That wasn't part of the OATH.
Fire them. If they don't work for all the people, they do not work for America.
