If Barbara Walters had asked what Katie did, nothing would be an issue.
We all know that the hypocritical "guys" can't stand Katie making all that money. I don't even like Katie and think she is a poor excuse for a journalist as are the FOX gang and Chris Matthews and Scarborough. But what they are saying about Katie is just plain hypocritical. I have heard all of them, including Barbara Walters ask questions more insensitive than those Katie asked of the Edwards...questions most everyone was asking themselves.

Katie who...? Got any links?
A link would have been helpful:

Lowest of the low...
Perhaps the biggest reason Couric is being criticized is because even as she is asking the Edwards' whether or not they're putting politics first, she is talking out the other side of her mouth. Someone with her background, having at least two family members who have died of cancer, and sitting there on television obviously putting politics over everything else, was just a bit too much for me to handle. That she would sell out her loved ones like that over her own blind ambition is appalling.
Conservative. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from a Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others.
~Ambrose Bierce, 1842-1914, American Author, Editor, Journalist.
I watched the interview and found many
of her questions to be based on hearsay and innuendos.
A professional journalist does not preface his/her questions
with " some say".
Who says?!? Rush Limbaugh and other RW talking heads?
Why is she parroting them?
This was not a Barbara Walters special.
This was '60 Minutes' the CBS news magazine
that has given us journalists like the late Ed Bradley.
In spite of her many years of television, Couric is
an amateur, not a professional journalist.
