Truth and Reconciliation
I'd like to see an American Truth and Reconciliation Commission and an apology to the world for the last 60 years. To the people of Iran, we are sorry for the Shah. Chile sorry we killed Allende. To Guatemala sorry for 20 years of civil war and death squads foisted upon you by American politicians. More recently the people of Afghanistan, "we" sucked the Russians into invading in 1980's you've had nothing but war ever since, I apologize. Iraq, our former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright once said, when told of the premature death of 600,000 Iraqi children during 10 years of sanctions "we think that is an acceptable price to pay" I'm so sorry. That wasn't enough we had to invade in 2003 to steal the rest of the oil while killing with abandon and torturing, a new low for my government. Prison without charge, forever, all the while being forced into "stress positions", so very sorry. To the people of Haiti one of the poorest countries in the world right in our backyard could our failure be any greater? Impeach Bush, Cheney and their henchmen. Put in jail those who suborned torture. Get rid of "our" weapons of mass destruction. Begin tomorrow along a new path, one that has no place for war or torture. A place where children don't die from neglect and starvation. A place where the people of this planet can succeed because the resources are no longer directed at military machines. Instead monies would be spent to bring clean drinking water, sanitation, sustainable farming and medicine to those who lack it. The choices we make today will effect the planet long after we are all dead. Let us work together to make the world truly a better place.
I'd like to apolgize to them too
I'm sorry we allowed our dictator deciders to run amuck in the middle east for their oil resources since 1980. We didn't know how nutz he was, probably because the elite's keep their nutz hidden or separate from regular citizens. This keeps us in the dark until, one nut surfaces to the top positions, we see him in now. We the American people are on point now, and are willing to offer reparations for all the looting and bombing of innocents and historical treasures saved for the last 3000 years, in Iraq due to tampered with intelligence leading us to your country. I know it seems a day late and a dollar short now, but as a African American that doesn't even get that, I see it as a step toward making amends to those harmed.
If our President would have attended even one AA meeting, He would have recognized his role when taking office.
Please accept African Americans apology for being asleep at the switch, there is so much to keep in check here, we have to deal with it as it comes along when the investigations are on.
