impeach
I would love to be part of this. I would like to propose a meet up for ny 19 people interested in getting this thing rolling.

Westchester portion of NY 19
It is not clear what action is developing directly related to the proposed Congressional District impeachment committees or in NY-CD 19. I do not see email traffic on the thread I found.
In any event, for two years I have been organizing public vigils in Northern Westchester with the help of several others and now an email list of hundreds. The activity began as opposition to Bush and the Iraq war with MoveOn support, but our steering committee has concluded that no significant change in national policy has occurred, or is at all likely to occur, unless the movement becomes widespread for investigation and Congressional hearings to show grounds for impeachment of the president and vice president. We recall that it was Judiciary Committee impeachment hearings, before any House impeachment vote or Senate conviction, that led directly to the resignation of our last most disgraced president, Nixon.
We also conclude that if we are to gain adequate leadership or other more vigorous action by our good liberal congressman, we need to work with similar minded folk in the other several counties in the District to show him that his support is not concentrated heavily in Westchester County and that he will be reelected by voters and election workers like us in all the counties of CD 19, even if, or perhaps particularly if he takes stronger action.
We recognize that reelection may well be more difficult than the original election, particularly as we understand that national Republican Party leaders have targeted him, [unless of course the nation continues to grow in its revulsion to Bush and his party.] We have therefore established contact with others in the Hudson Valley impeachment coalition and pledge to work with others in that District wide effort.
We are also working on other related projects including County Board action to support impeachment hearings in Congress etc, etc.
Perhaps our District is so large that we need more than one impeachment group in this format. If so we would like our Northern Westchester citizens group to be one of them.
If there are others anywhere in CD 19, Sienna, Bob Fertik or other Democrats.com folks reading this, a comment and/or reply would be helpful.
