Call for State-of-the-Union Impeachment Rallies
Those nice folks at Democrats.org are planning Bush Bingo parties for the the President's State of Union Address on January 24. Conservative blogger SactoDan seems truly dumbfounded by their frivolity. Who wouldn't be dumbfounded?! On the positive side, their Bush Bingo party page does contain the germ of a good idea. They claim to list state-specific fact sheets on "national issues" (aka DNC agenda items). I wrote back and asked why there was no mention of crimes ordered by the President that directly affect citizens in my state, e.g., having the CIA buy my private Verizon account data.
Let us hold the President to his word when he said last week that "Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me." Let us rally on January 24 with lists in hand of high crimes and managerial blunders that the President must own up to in order to accept responsibility. And wouldn't it be nice to have state-specific fact sheets showing how the President's crimes affect each and every state!
By the end of the night of January 24, let us be sure that every newspaper and TV station in the country knows where the President lied on January 24 with regard to his purported commitment to accept responsibility for Presidential error.

Bush's high crimes.

After reading the book entitiled "The Impeachment of George W. Bush.... A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens" by Elizabeth Holtzman, a former U.S. Congresswoman and member of the Nixon Impeachment panel, I am totally baffled by the ability of this lawbreaker president to continue to get away with his crimes against the American people, our Constitution, our Laws and our very Democracy. He is the first president to openly admit to committing a crime in refusing to go through the FISA court to spy on American citizens! He tells us he is "The Decider"! Well, what are we? It disturbed me to realize that we are his accomplices because we have allowed him to get away with it! I realized that we, the American people, must do something to remove him from office! It is time for us to demand that our representatives start the necessary investigations to impeach this entire administration! I am furious! As a Progressive Democrat, I also feel betrayed by my Democratic representatives who siezed control of Congress (because we voted for them) only to declare that "impeachment is off the table." WHAT? Impeachment should be the 2nd hundred hours' priority for the 110th Congress. Remember, we are the voters, and they want our votes! We must turn up the fire until they can no longer endure the heat.
