Impeachment of Bush and Cheney

I mean come on folks, two more years of this regime... now Iran? How does it end? Answer...WE END IT!!!!!!!!
Impeachment of Bush and Cheney
Hi Luke,
I live in Linthicum and feel we need to get the congressional investigations started and subpoenas submitted. I think we need to educate the public to push our congressmembers to engage in protecting the Constitution and our form of government from those who would subvert it with outrageous laws such as the Military Commisions Act. I am glad and proud that Milkulsi, Cardin and Paul Sarbanes voted against that terrible Act, but it passed none the less. Now we need to get John Sarbanes to help eliminate that law, begin hearings (which I hope will lead to impeachment) and replace a military foreign policy with a diplomatic one. I am not a pacifist, but I think war is a last resort, not a first response.
I would like to help you with your organizing in our area.

Investigate first, impeach next
After reading other, more politically savvy, members of this blog/forum area, I am convinced that we need to direct our congress members to investigate the crimes that have occurred during Dubya's watch prior to raising the flag for impeachment. This provides the level of impartiality necessary in our system of justice. (Remember innocent until proven guilty?)
Now, don't be mistaken in any way: there is nothing I would like to see more than these criminals, who have screwed up our country and democracy in ways that we may never recover from, not only be impeached and thrown out of office, but to have to spend the rest of their lives imprisoned in veterans' hospitals, cleaning up bedpans of those military people whose lives will be permanently and negatively impacted for what these war profiteers and traitors have done.
This may sound frivolous, but I have thought about it quite a bit. For the crimes of lying us into this unnecessary war for profit, the outing of Valerie Plame, and all the other things they have done, they deserve nothing less than the death penalty. However, as a bleeding heart liberal, I can't endorse killing these miscreants, even with all they've done. So, what should we do with them? And that's where my solution has lead: chained up in the basement of VA hospitals, and their only job, and their only relief from staring at a windowless cell (WITHOUT tv) is to clean up every bodily emission from these war heroes that can no longer take care of themselves. Anything less would not be punishment enough for Dick Cheney, Karl Rove (let's not forget him!), George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. Solitary confinement, cleaning bedpans, and no chance for parole will send a strong message to the next wave of politicians, put into office by corporate interest money, from attempting to do anything like this again.
It never ceases to infuriate me that Dick Cheney made over $8 million last year - he didn't get that much money from his vice-presidential salary. But's it not just the fact that he made that much money: it's how he made it - by getting us into this war, and at the expense of human lives. So, he rides in limosines while others are in wheelchairs, at best.
So, investigate, impeach, and then it's bedpans, bedpans, and more bedpans....
RE: Investigate first, Impeach next
John, there is already more than enough evidence against Bush to justify Impeachment proceedings.

Impeachment Evidence
Thank you, Lillie, for pointing out that web site that provides some level of organization to the overwhelming amount of "evidence" of the crimes that these criminals have committed over the past six years.
It seems as though there is a gap between what that web site provides and the level of rigor that congressional investigations must take in order to provide the foundation for a sweeping impeachment that will stick. On the other hand, this web site will certainly be a good starting point for the investigations that must ensue.
I'm still a little miffed that Nancy Pelosi, and others, immediately dismissed impeachment as a course of action once the Democrats took office. What right do they have to act so magnanamously and unilaterally? Apparently, she was more concerned about the jet she'd be flying in than focusing on what we sent her to do: impeach these bums. So, if you are in her district, please tell her for me that she is not doing her job if she is not investigating and impeaching these war criminals.
Thank you.
Impeachment Evidence
Lillie and John,
There is enough evidence for impeachment. See also www.bushcommission.org.
It is my opinion that it must be done methodically, deliberately and legitimately. Self determination with incremental change. Polls show that consensus is building and a majority are for impeachment of Bush, if not his entire Admin. Evidence needs to get in the hands of Congress through legitimate processes-subpeonas and hearings. Nancy was right to avoid a slug-fest over impeachment at the start. She had to establish her leadership, get the Dems to work together from a position of power and consolidate an agenda and plan to move forward. Waving a wand of instant impeachment would have meant chaos and confusion.
Let's keep up the pressure on our representatives. It will reach a point of no return where impeachment along with convition can not be avoided.
