The numbers of troops being sent to 'augment' troops...

already on the ground is being figured at about 22,000. This figure does not include the 5-6000 sailors in the Stennis Battle Group.

For those of you who watch Bush's speech(a desperate plea for support from his base)tonight, if you see his mouth open, you know he is lying.

The speech was, as expected, full of band aids and...

lots of iodine. He even managed to squeeze in, during his conclusion, his 'bit' about his Noble Cause. No doubt Cindy Sheehan will bring that up in the near future.

Immediate response from Tom Lantos[House Chairman, foreign relations committee]: "Too little, too late."(ABC-KGO San Francisco). Tom went on at some length, but his overall view is one that came out as very negative as to the outcome of Bush's new plan(LOL--new?).

As described(I don't watch TV), this speech was without Smirk's usual snickers and other facial gaffes. But it also said nothing that none of us didn't know already.

I saw the speech on TV

and in fairness I have to say he did pretty well
considering what he was trying to do. I however
find it difficult to believe he drew many converts.

There was a part in the speech where he really
"went off" on Iran, mentioned that fleet of ships
they are accumulating near Middle East. This was
in fact jarring. Guys, our poor troops are exhausted
and stressed. I could not help but thinking this
President will get us into war with Iran. Keep your
eyes and ears to the ground and if necessary blitz
the Media if something looks like it might be developing.
I cannot give the quote but to me it was unnerving.

BUSH IS STILL LYING AND OUR

BUSH IS STILL LYING AND OUR TROOPS ARE STILL DYING

The third 'Together forward' this year.

Must we be impressed?

Republicans are still saying, 'wellllll I will take a very serious look at his proposals' .....as they, once again, rubber stamp his bullshit. Just as they have on his torture, renditions, spying on Americans, selling out America, and this rediculous war.

Bush & the media

It's long past the time when we in the anti-war movement should have realized Bush will never change so we must pressure the media to show how this emperor is naked. Demonstrations outside mainstream media headquarters and an organized, sustained campaign to change mainstream media & pressure it to do its democratic duty are needed now.

Did anyone hear

Did anyone hear Bush say "They [Iraq] need to accept the burden of freedom" ? What the hell did he mean? Either I have slowed way down or he just threw that in, out of context, and gave it no explaination.

Cloud said that she reminds him of a grade school girl looking at the teacher as if she hates them. Some diplomat! And the repubs want to make her their next president?!

And for 2 more years, we

And for 2 more years, we have to "accept" the burden of him (Bush) as president.....

The Decider's "Decision"

Anyone remember the old Excedrin commercials....you know, this is Excedrin Headache #4? Well...this was simply the same old headache (THE BIG "speech"), probably Speech #33, with the semantics moved around a bit, but it was the same tired rhetoric Bush has stuck to forever. Whatever "decision" there was to be made was made long before the Iraq Study Group's report...long before he spent a grueling 3 hours "workin'" on it in Crawford with his buddies. Bush wants to be a "war Prezinitwit" folks...that's all he's ever wanted to be and by damn, he's gonna' do it. Screw the American public! Screw the rising death toll for American troops and the Iraqi population! Screw the Generals! But, most of all, SCREW reality! The man lives in a fantasy world and apparently, nothing is going to change that. He's going to string this desert debacle out until he can dump it in the next guy's lap, pure and simple. God, I hope his "legacy" in history goes right into the toilet!

Coincidentally, Buzz Flash

Coincidentally, Buzz Flash is offering a magnet for sale that shows Bush being "flushed" down the toilet. Think of what that would do to a sewer system.....(presumably his legacy goes along with him). Gurgle Gurgle!
Just wait until they start talking about building a 'presidential libray' for this inept CIC!
