Actually, the guy telling the story does not get it right...
1. General Hague is actually: Alexander Haig. The wanna-be pres when Reagan was shot. Haig was a classic example of a Rovian-type manipulator.
2. Makes for a good interview, but the truth is that Ford testified before the Congress and swore that there was no deal made.
3. The congressional testimony was brought up by Bernie Ward and Ray Taliaferro on KGO San Francisco just a couple of days ago.
4. I would suggest that a bit more homework be done. There is no reason not to believe Ford in his congressional testimony.
5. Ford's pardon of Nixon prior to impeachment and conviction was his most serious error. He raised the office and person of a president above the law.
