The Limits Of Euphoria In A Political Dogfight...
From the Crisis Papers(DU)
Bernard Weiner
This message may help explain why we all mostly have mixed emotions about our recent win. Just when we all thought it was time to relax, we are finding that the work is out there and much remains to be done. Weiner just puts things in such a great perspective. Skinner, the editor of DU also contributes.

The greatest derangement of the mind is to believe in something because one wishes it to be so.

This is the fear
This is the fear that I think many of us have, but dare not speak.
Iraq is getting worse and worse. The BA has made our world a very dangerous place and they still have 2 years to stir the pot. The idea of a draft might be better for the country, but it will continue to bring the poor to the battlefield in ever larger numbers, unless the college deferment is forgone this time.
Every time Bush talks about "bringing democracy to the M.E." I feel like screeming. "It takes a lot more than a purple finger to make democracy you idiot"!
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross." ~ Sinclair Lewis
In a time of deception telling the truth is a revolutionary act. ~ George Orwell
We may not be able to fix
everything the Repugs have screwed up,
but I am feeling more secure with quite a few more sane
heads in the House and Senate, now.
I understand the anxiety, though.
It's quite a task to take on the reparation of all
they have tried to destroy for the past 6 years.
