Info on Welch
If our goal is to persuade Welch to support impeachment, there are two things we need to know right away:
1. Where do we address messages to Welch? His web site requests that no mail be sent to the Welch for Congress address in Burlington. Does anyone know his proper address?
2. What precisely is Welch's position on impeachment? My vague recollection is something like: "It's not worth wasting time on impeachment but we should have investigations."
Did he ever put out a press release or position paper?

There isn't any reason to contact him before January for matters on the National level, and once he's in office then, there will be a new email and mailing address (and probably a website on house.gov). He's STILL a Vermont state senator until then, and his duties will remain focused on his job IN VERMONT until it's time for him to step down and assume his new job in the US Congress. BUT, until then, if you feel you must start now with the impeachment issue (but I'm telling you it wont do any good since he's not in that national office yet, he has NO MORE power than any of the rest of us until then), here is his current contact info:

Impeachment
Where are we going with this? I contacted all three of our people in Washington and found very little interest in pursuing impeachment directly. They all three want to "investigate" and then impeach. That's very statesmanlike of them, but in the meantime, our rights are being eroded and the country is in great peril.
I can't make them understand that we need to express our outrage and get a climate of resistance started. Otherwise, Bush will continue to flip off the public and keep on protecting his corrupt cronies. And the next president will start eroding our liberties exactly where this one left off.
Impeachment
As i understand it impeachment is investigation of aleged crimes if founded then the Senate takes up a trial. From what I've heard from Pat Leahy he is ready to conduct Impeachment hearings it seems that Peter is not taking his job seriously if he refuses to serve the will of the people then he should be replaced even if by a Republican like the former Jim jeffords.
