Impeach Miller
I was surprised when Denison didn't do better against Candice Miller. It seems to me that all he had to do was put up signs (everywhere) with a simple message !! Candice Miller - Bush Neocon !! . That's all it would have taken. I'm afraid more than an "Impeach Miller" move is needed. We need to find, QUICKLY, someone to run HARD against Miller. We need to do this YESTERDAY! Did you know that Candice Miller is thinking of running for MI governor in four years? Better to beat her in MI 10 congressional in two years!
Getting Miller Out
I agree, and the time to start is today. The new chair of the 10th District is Henry Yanez, and I have a friend who knows him personally. I plan to have a conversation with him very soon about our strategy over the next two years. Perhaps you'd like to join me?
Absolutely!
Yes I would! I'd be thrilled with a chance to speak with Mr. Yanea and yourself.
Allow me to tell you a little about myself.
I'm from Ca. but have lived in MI for 5 years. I'm 53 (M), retired military (USAF), good with computers, BA in English, writer, Married to a good MI woman. I have kids in CA. I've tried to stay politically active. Here in Sandusky (the one in MI's thumb) I was the treasurer for the local democratic party. It was a club till I got here. Increased fund raising moved the club, by state political finance laws (which I had to read for the treasurer job), into the realm of being a party. I resigned as treasurer so that I could help Rob Casey run for Dem choice for congressional MI 10th. He lost the primary.
I stay as informed about the national political scene as anyone I know in this area. I'm a member of the local, state and national "D" party. Boy, oh boy oh boy would I love to see Candice Miller beaten (politically). I'd work toward that end too. I've already told my wife that if the oppertunity came up, I'd be enlisting to help beat Miller.
Keep me informed.

Meeting
Okay, then. We're officially friends!
My turn - I am 28, a single mom with 2 kids, from Sterling Heights. I am a junior at Wayne State University and the President of the WSU College Democrats. I recently finished working with the Michigan Dems Coordinated Campaign, first as in intern in Warren, then as a paid staffer in Ferndale. That's 12th District, Sander Levin, but I made some great contacts, including several elected officials. I am also active with several nonpartisan groups (Project Vote Smart, League of Women Voters) and several partisan groups (MoveOn, DFA, PDA).
I am one of those Dems who believe that the Democratic Party IS the "center" in this country, and that they need to move a little to the left to truly represent my interests, the most important of which, to me personally, are 1)Impeachment, 2)environment, and 3) homeland security (which I believe the environment is a part of, by the way). In that order.
So, how about we get through the immediate holidays, and maybe sometime before Christmas (which, to me, includes my kids Christmas break) we can get together for coffee and talk about strategy for the new year. Sound good? I know we're not really close, so maybe we can meet halfway. Is your wife active as well?
By the way, a warning... I'm a huge military junkie. Come prepared to talk!
Meeting.
Affirmative.
Susan is an MI state employee (child welfair officer) so she keeps her politics under wraps. Lord knows I'm generally pissed enough for both of us. Thank Air America for that! Oh,
I have some GREAT military stories. Lackland AFB Texas, Lowery AFB Denver, Deale AFB California, Osan AFB Korea, Sunnyvale Air Force Station, California - out! Computer operations - satellite command and control. Neat stuff.
I'm one of those Dems that believes that an egg sucking broke leg dog with flees is better elected to congress than ANY Republican. Here's a picture of me and Gov. Dean.
ANYTHING FURTHER
Anything further? I sent mail to the dems rep for MI 10th and have not heard anything back. At the very least someone needs to open an anti-Candice Miller web site. I'd be happy to buy a domain name for this and program a page in html. It would be nice to have a PAC umbrella to do that under though.
