Voting adversary back into the system

Democrats did not get their way today; the America people got their way. They got the government they wanted, not the one George Bush wanted to give us. This is a historic victory not for democrats but for people-powered politics and democracy. People showed their sharp rebuke of the Bush administrations radical policies and failures in the Iraq war. Today, the people won and so did our nation. Today, we voted adversary back into the system.

The one-party rule was a dismal failure. Neoconservative politics was a disaster. Pre-approving every whim of the President was dangerous and a malignant growth of false inerrancy. Fear-mongering as a methodology to govern a free nation proved to be a monumental mistake. Fear, after the shock wears off, turned to anger, resentment and then action to rebuff those that would attempt to subjugate and rule us through bully tactics and cheap demagoguery.

I can only now offer this piece of advice to George W. Bush:

"Mr. President, you are either with America or you are against us!"

Re: Voting adversary back into the system

I agree that the American people own this victory. The smashing of the choke-hold held on us by the Republicans and the White House has reaffirmed my deep belief in our right to insurrection in a time of tyrants. However, I cannot give credit to the Democrats or even another "party". Indeed, all "parties" should be abolished by Constitutional Amendment because of their inherently devisive and eventually corrupt nature. I believe that there is still plenty of dirty Democrat laundry out there and when the Repukes find it we will once again be bogged down in the defensive claims of our elected officials rather than the business of restoring our country to freedom and fairness.

The long list of Things To Do, posted here as a poll of the top 20 things we would like to accomplish, is a good list of tasks for America. We must learn that we, as Americans, simply cannot place our blind faith in the so-called "leadership" in Washington. Liberty can only be maintained through the vigilance of the PEOPLE, and we shall no longer take our eyes off of those elected officials looking to build their own agendas on the backs of the populace. Simply put, I don't believe we are out of the woods yet. Not as long as we have criminals holding the top two Executive offices, and their cronies still in charge of key Cabinet and Department posts.

I think that there should be a Bill made law to make C-SPAN an accessible channel to ALL Americans for free. It seems to be the only media source without a bias and has access to most, if not all, of the important meetings and votes in Congress. We can't watch our backs if we don't know what's going on out there. Clearly, a large number of our countrymen have made their opinions known with the one immutable power we own: our votes. I wonder how many more would become involved if they could regularly and freely see what is going on in the Legislative branch of government. C-SPAN keeps it neutral, unlike the whole rivers of mainstream media trying to force feed us their political drivel.

In any case, we must never forget that votes such as last night's are representative of battles; they are not signals that the war for our independence has been won.
