Kline attacks Coleen Rowley again, and this one's really sad

I just saw a new, more desperate, mailer from Republican Congressman John Kline. This time he claims that Coleeen Rowley "approved comparing a Marine Corps veteran to a Nazi." He does into greater "detail" by claiming that "Congressional candidate Coleen Rowley approved her campaign's use of an altered photo of Congressman John Kline." Uh, no.

Immediately ordering the deletion of the tasteless new pictoral on her website by an overzealous staffer; she went directly to your office and waited to see you. Upon finally getting an audience she humbly apologized on behalf of her campaign. She sincerely and utterly had no idea such a prank had been added. It appeared to all that the incumbant had understood and accepted her apology. They shook hands. That was many months ago. Now this mailer comes out with lies. The problem with the smear tactic is that the incident was reported in the news; it was covered fully by the press, apology accepted and put to rest to move on to real issues. Issues like the war, government spending, unethical behaviors, and so many more became the focus of the campaign, not some prank gone wrong. I guess your hand shake means nothing.

And there are more lies from you. You boast about your service as a marine, yet you repeatedly are a part of the republican agenda to restrict veterans benefits while you expect uncompromising service from our men and women serving in the Mideast and other areas of the world. You never speak out against the limitations and reductions to veteran benefits, yet you dare to think you are as honorable and as deserving as they!

It is unpatriotic to send men and women to serve in a war - any war - and fail to support their basic needs when they come home. They deserve strong, passionate and abiding loyalty for their sacrifice. You, simply do not care. You simply use.

Hey, hasn't anyone out there ever watched Hogan's Heroes? Colonel Klink was NOT a Nazi...he was a bumbling, incompetent, careerist suck-up. If the Rowley web thing was in poor taste, then so was the TV show...which was a hit, watched by millions of Americans (including soldiers and vets). Okay, so the show was in somewhat poor taste...but the point remains, Klink was a buffoon but NOT a Nazi...and Kline's indignation is grossly out of proportion to the perceived slight, to a comically self-parodying extent. And, Kline is a buffoon.
