Tan Nguyen thinks voter suppression is not illegal!
There has been no crime committed so why is there a criminal investigation three weeks prior to a very important election?" Nguyen asked. "What is going on? Who is fueling this investigation?" --Tan Nguyen
No crime? Is he kidding?! Yep, you guessed it, Tan is blaming his Democratic opponent for his campaign woes! And then there is this:
Nguyen also said he regretted firing his office manager who sent the mailings and publicly invited her to return.
Or this stunning note of hypocrisy:
Nguyen, a Vietnamese immigrant who has made illegal immigration a centerpiece of his campaign, said he would stay in the race despite calls from the state GOP and others to quit. "I'm innocent," Nguyen said. "I'm not going to quit this race; I'm going to win this race." Nguyen said Sunday he did not authorize or approve the letters, which warn in Spanish: "You are advised that if your residence in this country is illegal or you are an immigrant, voting in a federal election is a crime that could result in jail time."
Nahhh, nothing wrong with a statement like that...except it is blatantly false and a textbook example of willfully contributing to voter suppression of minorities!
In actuality, immigrants who have become naturalized U.S. citizens are entitled to vote.

Frank, thanks for giving this airtime.
Tan Nguyen is out of control,
First his office issues the letters threatening prison for any Latino immigrant who votes;
Yep, that's right. Tan is trying to hide behind the translation, inmigrante which
could mean legal or illegal immigrant-either one, same word.
Well guess how 100% of the Latinos who read it took it to mean- THEM!!
I tried to do some damage control by sharing with all my Latino students
that the letter was Bull**** and that Tan Nguyen's office was raided by the police.
But, unfortunately, much of the damage is done. Many, many Lationos, especially here
in Costa Mesa with our 'local police shall enforce Federal immigration policy' BS pushed
by our divisive Repub mayor, are scared witless by anything threatening their stay in the US. This
includes documented workers here.
Now Tan wants to fight back! Oh that is rich, alright.
He's been so damn persecuted by the Garden Grove PD and the media.
Nevermind that he tried to sabotage Loretta Sanchez's run for re-election with
his illegal and immoral fright letter targeting Latinos!
Again, we have the classic 'I refuse to take any responsibility for my actions' Repub MO.
It's repulsive.
Karen, are you in Tan's district?
The "I refuse to take any responsibility for my actions" Repub MO sums it up perfectly.
This guy looks unbalanced and shrill.
What a loser.
"If being liberal means critical thinking and informed dissent, instead of blind obedience and ignorant nationalism, then I am all for it!"
No, I'm in the 46th District.
Dana Rohrabacher is our congressman.;-(
This race is in the 47th District, where Loretta Sanchez in
the incumbent.

But believe me, this scam has everyone here in OC
in an uproar. Hell, I heard the CA Repub. Party was
going to ask Tan to withdraw his name from the race.
I guess his answer is 'NO!'.
Tan mentioned that he was not aware of the letters sent out...
by his office manager. He almost has gotten away with that, but lets do a little simple math to see if his statement might be true.
He downplays the number of letters that went out. I have heard that 14,000 were sent. 14,000 x .20[what I estimate his postage costs to be]comes to $2800.00.
He wasn't aware of at least $2800 in postage costs? He sure isn't someone I would want running my district or counting out the petty cash of govt.
I used .20 as a postage figure...it may have been somewhat higher.
