Woodward on Larry King.

Many apologies folks- I recorded the interview, and was all set up to post it here, but after watching it, I couldn't.
I know the liberal blogosphere has re-discovered their love affair with Woodward, but in the interviews I've seen of the guy, he strikes me as perhaps the most clueless guy on the planet. After issuing forth two books that were portraits of undying love for this criminal administration, he re-emerges with a new book that contradicts his earlier, glowing reportage, and by way of explanation, Woodward innocently shrugs his shoulders, and says "I was just reporting on what I saw- I had no idea what was coming down the way..."
Welcome to 2003, Bob.
I don't have a degree, a pulitzer prize, or a nice office in NYC, but I, and the rest of the reality-based community knew that this was a war of choice, three years ago. We knew where the policies that Bob lauded so glowingly would eventually lead us. We knew that this war had been mishandled, since the very first day. We knew that Bush and his neocon cronies were living in a fantasy world, divorced from reality. We knew that this war would lead to horrific death and suffering.
We knew all of these things either were, or would come to pass, even before the war began- but the newly-rehabilitated Bob is suddenly a darling, for closing the gate, three years after the horse has fled.
I remain unimpressed.

Agreed, but...
I just finished reading his new book - I haven't read any of the others.
In my mind, the most important thing is that rips Rumsfeld and Rice to shreds and points out in great detail the number of times they were told X or Y needed to be fixed NOW - and they weren't - ever and still haven't.
That's complete incompetence.
Unimpressed as you may be, this book will certainly propagate the message that these are a bunch of clueless idiots that won't accept their mistakes have made our situation significantly more precarious.
Funny how Foley has taken the focus away from this book today…
I Agree with Rodhew
Are we a party that embraces someone when they "see the light," or do we stay in the embittered past?
Bob Woodward's sources and contacts allowed him to pull back the curtain behind all the secrecy surrounding this administration. He substantiates what journalists and bloggers have been saying and he gets the MSM attention. I'll take whatever I can get, and I'm glad Woodward is doing what he's doing NOW.
I think it is more complex than that.
Here is another example of "taking what we can get": http://www.democrats.com/node/10220
Democrats do cherish a change of mind or heart, however there are cases in which not everthing appears as it seems. Scarborough for example has BLOOD on his hands. He was not snookered by Republicans in power. I watched as he tried to clobber Democrats with the news that a balsa wood airplane in Iraq could be used to deliver WMDs! He was acting as a cheerleader for his TEAM the Republicans rather than being a thoughtful American.
No, he and talking heads like him (O'Reilly, etc.), are dumb f###s and/or greedy bastards. They are back peddling fast because all those dumb ass Conservative ideas (with ALL branches of Government on their side for more than half a decade) have been shown to be false.
As if anyone needed to run this experiment to know that.

Why the hell should we put Woodwood and Joe on a pedistal and listen to them now?
WE KNEW!
WE KNOW!
WE BUILT THIS CIVILIZATION!

(I do understand where you are coming from. We simply must be careful not to give these rat bastards a chance to gain prestige.)
Simple answer? Because those
Simple answer? Because those who forget the past, lose track of the future. The "now," and instant gratification, is momentary.
