Most people arrested have committed a crime or broken a law. That is why they are detained in the first place.
The majority of Americans want our borders secure and existing laws enforced which includes only legal immigration. Not only do we need this wall built quickly and more border control agents trained quickly, but we need the wall to be continuous so that any new routes are eliminated. And we need employers severely punished so that they pay the going wage for the labor and go thru legal immigration for visa workers after first looking for US citizens. It's time for illegal immigrants to get in line for legal immigration with everyone else from all over the world. We will never allow open borders because of drug and human trafficking, and the crime that goes along with it.
Who is willing to pay for the WALL?
I roughly agree with what you are saying but we really have to take care not to fall again for dog eat dog while our masters laugh all the way to the bank.
A WALL costs money.
Getting rid of our Slave Labor will also increase prices. Employers will NOT absorb the profit losses due to increased labor prices.

The Democratic Proposal above addresses each of these concerns:
First, instead of trying to police many millions of mobile Illegal Workers, it targets stationary Illegal Jobs (which number far less). This removes the bait. How many peasants will cross when no jobs await?
Secondly, the increased Minimum Wage ensures that Americans will help Police the Market for FREE since these jobs would become far more interesting to Americans.
Finally, by exercising a long overdue UNION beteen the vast majority of professions, and NOT falling for bashing peasants, Americans stand a chance of enacting what our parents took for granite (after Decades of suffering): DEMOCRATIC REFORMS.

My own take on this is to provide relief for increased prices by eliminating Income Tax on the first $60,000 made by every American. (39% tax on additional dollars for revenue neutrality. A little more at first and a little less later, after the economic boom comes from getting capital to the vast majority). Other offsets can also be enacted like health care for all workers.
This WILL mean less for those at the top. Since they use to work for far less, when the majority constantly kept them in check, I predict they will continue to work at their present jobs for less and therefore not effect the economy.
I really hope Americans can start to analyze this more carefully than either the Wall Proposal or the Open Border Proposal. How far can a "Gated Community" model really take America?

Faulty logic
A minimum wage increase will do nothing to prevent illegal workers from taking the jobs. In fact, it might cause more to be employed under the table, so that the employers do not have to pay the higher minimum wage. As long as there are illegal workers and workers on visas who will work for less than Americans, wages for the poor and middle class will not increase.
In my opinion the differences in currency and in cost of living between countries makes it unfair to American workers to have to compete with people all over the world for their own jobs. This is our country and we aren't going to stand for it.
The first thing is to put up a wall which is decades late, and enforce the laws on the books. Do you think for one second that I feel sorry for the woman on tv who has no illegals to pick her pears? Did she ever think that they might have gone to find a better year-round job? How many people can afford to work for only 6 months out of the year? Someone should have asked her exactly how many weeks was she willing to pay them. I shook my pear tree, climbed up on a ladder and picked my own pears for myself. If someone wants pears, grow your own damn tree.
Which is the greater travesty? Not having illegals pick our produce or giving our jobs and our children's jobs to foreign workers? By the way, if you look at your produce it will say "made in USA or Mexico" so do you want to pay for the generations of illegal immigrants' social security when you don't even know which country your produce came from? I don't. So has the FDA told us to peel our fruits and vegetables or are they going to let us get sick like the Mexicans and die. If Mexico's greatest export is oil, they can keep up their own poor and their own social security program. It is not our responsibility. Their 2nd and 3rd generations in this country aren't going to pick produce anyway.
About policing jobs, there aren't enough government agents to do it. They allow the employers to police themselves when it comes to the FDA. They will privatize it out to someone who doesn't do squat. A few will get a pidly penalty, and then they will just go back and make their fortune off of slave wages.
Quite honestly I think you work for a Mexican lobby or for a Republican lobby. I do not think any democrat from previous generations would refuse to step up to protecting American's jobs and wages. This is most definitely where the Democratic party has lost support of middle class Americans everywhere. You are either with us or you are against us.
A fence is the only deterent that is cost-efficient and proven to work. Tell our government to get it built NOW!!!

Re-read what I wrote as you missed it entirely.
If you wish to bankrupt the USA in a similar way as to how Republicans are killing off our troops then by all means choose to spend money hand over fist bitching about fellow peasants.
If you wish to, for FREE, end much of Illegal Immigration then consider what I actually wrote rather than relying on the voices of genetic dullards who bring you bullshit that passes for analysis these days.

Immigrants, both legal and illegal, are drawn here because of ILLEGAL JOBS. Trying to police MOBILE workers who number an order of magnitude more than STATIONARY illegal jobs is a grand way to continue the hollowing out of America.
-Get rid of the bait by massively fining and imprisoning Illegal employERS. This is far cheaper than (once again) going after FAR MORE Illegal Employees who are MOBILE.
-Follow the Democratic Tradition of ensuring all necessary jobs in America pay a fair days wage for a fair days labor. With this in place AMERICANS will TURN IN ILLEGAL WORKERS BECAUSE AMERICANS WILL THEN HIGHLY DESIRE THOSE JOBS. The Market will self Police for FREE.
Even this is not enough because once your Slave Labor is gone you will hate the increased prices and these are not offset by the savings you'll claim. Unless of course you find that mega corporations and businesses in general are altruistic and desire to ABSORB increased costs. (So too any supposed savings gleaned at the Federal Level---If it materialized, which it will not, but if it did, it would be immediate countered by a Conservative Tax Cut for the Wealthy).
Finally, with the above in place the States are free to remove THUGS by any reasonable means and that includes making use of their legal status. It also minimizing human suffering by ramping pressure rather than instituting round ups.
