Myopic Matt Strikes Again

After we swept Congress in November, I got royally pissed when MyDD's Matt Stoller claimed the progressive netroots has "no legislative agenda except for net neutrality."

Does Stoller really think the millions who read progressive blogs have no legislative agenda except net neutrality??

Does he think we have collectively donated millions of dollars and millions of volunteer hours (not to mention millions of hours reading blogs and praying for change) for net neutrality??

C'mon Matt, you can't possibly be so clueless.

I pointed Matt to the results of our poll on policy changes our readers would like to see from the Democratic Congress:

For Stoller's edification, Net Neutrality is #14 on the list:

Habeas Corpus: restore access to courts for all prisoners of the U.S.	61%
Minimum Wage: increase to "living wage" above the poverty line and index to inflation	59%
Impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney: for Iraq War lies, Illegal Wiretapping, Torture, and other High Crimes	50%
Iraq: end U.S. occupation as quickly as possible	49%
Taxes: shift burden from working families to wealthy and corporations	48%
Wiretapping: enforce laws prohibiting warrantless wiretapping inside U.S.	42%

And I challenged Stoller and the rest of the progressive blogosphere to copy our poll onto their sites to find out the real legislative agenda of the Netroots.

But today Stoller (in an otherwise excellent and important post on the continuing stranglehold of the DLC over crucial Democratic policies) did it again!

Also notice how our only real policy concern - net neutrality - just isn't really on the legislative radar right now (though this could change).

To quote my November post: WTF???

Matt by what form of alchemy does item #14 become the only real policy concern of the Netroots???

I thought "MyDD" originally stood for "My Due Diligence" - I guess it really means "My Daft Dunderheadedness."
