Joe Scarborough Health Care Plan: Socialism and Murder

Joe Scarborough gets countless hours each day to trash President Obama's plans to solve our massive problems. His current line of attack is that Obama's failure to do exactly what Scarborough wants is a failure of "leadership."

Of course Scarborough is no "leader" and never offers his alternative plans. Why? Because he's a coward like every other Republican whose only response to any Democratic plan is N-O.

But thanks to Twitter, we can now sketch out the core elements of Joe Scarborough's Health Care Plan:

3/6/09 5:11 pm: Medical costs are exploding. We will have to do things Republicans and Democrats hate. Means testing, rationing, etc.

3/6/09 5:21 pm: Less $$$ per person, more means testing, less $ spent on end of life care, more spent with children, more preventative care.

President Obama and the Democrats already invested heavily in health care for children with S-CHIP (which Republicans vehemently opposed.) And we already invested in preventive care as part of the Recovery Act, including community health clinics. (Republicans blocked family planning funds, which are also preventive care.) So what's new in the Scarborough Plan?

1. Means testing, which means making the rich pay more than the poor for health care. That's exactly what Rush Limbaugh & Co. denounce as "Socialism."

2. Rationing, specifically denying care to dying patients. That's exactly what Rush Limbaugh & Co. call "Murder."

So that's Joe Scarborough's Health Care Plan in a nutshell: Socialism and Murder.
