Lou Dobbs is jumping for joy - his homeboys Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean got their sentences commuted by Bush. According to the NY Times,
With a day left in his presidency, Mr. Bush exercised his constitutional power to grant clemency — for the last time, according to senior administration officials
Is this really Bush's last pardon?

Actually, these trigger-happy border cops were not "pardoned," their sentences were commuted. They remain convicted felons, and guilty as charged.

a gigantic FU to the Justice Department prosecutors, the Border Patrol, and Bush's best amigos in Mexico.
What was worthy of commutation?
-That cops SHOULD shoot unarmed suspects?
-That all cops SHOULD shoot all fleeing subjects.
-That cops SHOULD cover up what happens on their watch?
Don't get me wrong, maybe there are extenuating circumstances in this case, but it really is up to those who desire change in American Law Enforcement practices, to offer specifics.
I understand that Right Wingers want all of the above when it's a cop interacting with a class they dislike, and none of it when it deals with those they do like.
For the rest of us however, a few details would help. Do you disagree with American Law Enforcement practices, or simply something about this specific case?
