NY, NYC: TEACH-IN/RALLY AGAINST THE WAR

Hear professors, students and staff speak about the truth behind five years of war and colonial occupation that are destroying Iraq and Afghanistan.

Learn more about the real history of this and other wars, and struggles for workers rights going back to the origins of “May Day,” when immigrant and U.S.-born workers joined together to fight for the eight-hour day.

Today, history is being made by workers in the United States using their power against the war: the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) has decided to shut down all 29 West Coast ports for a full 8-hour shift against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We will show solidarity with this exciting action of the Longshore workers, who have a long history of fighting against racism, repression and war.
And we will discuss what we can learn from this crucial event and where we go from here.

Sponsored by the Hunter chapter of PSC-CUNY. Endorsed by the Adjunct Project.

WAR ON WAR!   Sam Harris Music Video Contest
Sam Harris is mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore.  Fed up with the war in Iraq, Harris has started a music video contest for his original song War on War to counter the GOP’s stance of “staying the course.”  The contest is open for anyone who wants to express their vision of a world without war by creating a video for Harris’ song, the first single from his upcoming solo album Free.  Resources for free video creation software, tools, video footage and royalty free photography from war documentarian, active duty Marine Jayel Aheram are provided at  www.WarOnWar.INFO and additional contest information at www.SamTube.com.

We would like to have as many of our peace-minded friends in place that night, whether or not you live in the township!!
