GA, Brunswick: Peace Rally - Tell Bush to Stop Killing Our Troops

The "Brunswick News" has announced that George W. Bush will visit the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) to speak on immigration this Tuesday.

The article said Rep. Kingston would be elsewhere and that's good because he differs with Bush on the subject. Kingston is for high walls and no free rides, while Bush has supported his corporate backers and left the border alone. Isakson will also be unavailable! So much for southern hospitality.

BUT WE WILL BE THERE TO TELL BUSH NO MORE WAR - STOP THE KILLING

WA, Federal Way: Memorial Day Peace Vigil/Rally

Please gather on the corners of this busy intersection to remember and honor all those who have died in wars, past and present. We would be remiss, however, if we aren't also out there asking that this senseless war be brought to an end so that no more will be added to the list of the remembered. Bring signs, peaceful countenances, and your "Mad As Hell" attitudes.

NY, NYC: Operation First Casualty: Iraq Vets Bring Truth of War Home

In an effort to illuminate the true reality of the conflict in Iraq, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) will engage in a series of street theater actions around the New York City area on Sunday, May 27. This day coincides with a national observance of Memorial Day (Monday, May 28), which bears particular significance in the midst of the fifth year of a war that has claimed the lives of over 3,300 American service members and over 655,000 Iraqis.

Actual veterans of the conflict in Iraq will play the part of American service members – with reenactments that will highlight various aspects of life in combat in Iraq. The event will be treated like a military operation with participants in full military uniform. (However, there will be no weapons used at any time.)

Participants hope that by giving the American public a sense of the ugly reality of the war that more people will be inspired to act to end the war now.

His walk will begin on Mon. May 28th at 8 am. It may take a week or two to accomplish this task, so please feel free to stop by any day and join him and other like-minded people as they demand an end to the U.S. war on and occupation of Iraq.

ARLINGTON WEST MEMORIAL, by Veterans for Peace

ARLINGTON WEST MEMORIAL, by Veterans for Peace

Every Sunday since February 2004, members of the Los Angeles chapter of Veterans For Peace have come to the beach at Santa Monica to erect the Arlington West Memorial. These rows of memorial markers in the sand--white wooden crosses, Muslim crescents and stars of David provide veterans and members of the armed forces, their families and friends, and the general public a place to grieve and honor the more than 3.400 American soldiers killed and more than 50,000 wounded in Iraq. The memorial is also designed to raise public awareness of the real human costs and consequences of American militarism and to provide a site that fosters dialogue and reflection among people with varied points of view.

It is during the Memorial Day week end. Veterans for Peace will set up Arlington west Memorial for 3 days at the Santa Monica Beach (Down to the pier) Saturday 26 th , Sunday 27th and Monday 28th.

ME, Kennebunkport: Stop the War - Start a Revolution of Values

What: "STOP THE WAR! Start a Revolution of Values" Rally and March for Peace on Saturday, August 25Th, 2007 in Kennebunkport, Maine.

This is a convergence of anti-war, environmental, labor and social justice activists along with concerned citizens. We want to break the cycle of endless war and start a revolution of values. The event is timed to coincide with President Bush's Summer vacation in Kennebunkport at his family's estate. However, we view Bush to be part of a deeper problem and his estate is a symbolic target. So we will march regardless if he is in town or not.

The open mike starts at 10:00 AM; Rally begins at 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, with speakers and music.

Our speakers will address the need in America for systemic change to break the cycle of endless war. Speakers will include:
