Stop Funding the War!

TOWN HALL

Sunday, April 20th

There will be a town hall meeting in Portland on Sunday April 20th as part of a national movement to try to stop the funding, AGAIN, of this madness called, "The Occupation of Iraq." The town hall will be held at 4312 SE Stark (Friends Meeting House) from 6-8 PM.

We must make a record-----We, the people of Oregon tried everything to stop this madness! Come and speak! The event will be video taped and copies of the video will be hand delivered in the Portland area and mailed to the district offices of other Representatives. There will be copies sent to the local and national media.

Iraq Town Halls

Many of my friends, whose only news source is network news are so terribly misinformed. I would like to help host an Iraq Town Hall Meeting to get some real facts about the Iraq War to the public. Starting with Okmulgee County, is there anyone out there who would join me in this effort?

Iraq Town Hall in the VA 4th District

After 5 years it is time to end the Iraq occupation that never should have started. War is a dying business (4,000 American soldiers have died, tens of thousands have been wounded and more than 1 million Iraqi citizens have died).

Citizens of the 4th Congressional District will meet to discuss our plans to pressure Randy Forbes to stop funding the war. We also need to discuss the support that we, as a community can provide to the returning veterans who have suffered physical and mental wounds.

Because of the size of the 4th District I would like to have two Town Halls: one in Chesapeake (Randy Forbes' home town) and another in Petersburg.

A Serious Peace Strategy Emerges

By David Swanson

In 2006 we elected a Congress to end the occupation of Iraq. If we don't hold that Congress to it, we will not have the power in 2008 to elect anyone for any stated purpose. Fulfillment of campaign promises will be entirely optional in 2009. Our last chance to hold the current Congress to its commitment is in the coming month of April, when the House takes up Bush's request for another $102 billion of our grandchildren's money.

April 24 Town Hall w/David Swanson: Are Peace and Impeachment Possible?

What: Democrats.com and Codepink are hosting a fantastic Town Hall on April 24 called "Are Peace and Impeachment Possible?" We want to fill the theater so I hope you'll come, bring your friends and help get the word out about it.
When: Thursday, April 24, 6:50-9 p.m.
Where: The Beautiful Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Ave., Oakland

Friends,

Please join us at our Town Hall: Are peace and impeachment possible? A discussion of strategies to end the war, prevent war on Iran, and save our Constitution and economy.

We must send the message to Congress: Vote "NO" on Bush's demand for another $102 billion for the Iraq War and start impeachment hearings for Dick Cheney.

Can you help us fill the theater for this exciting event by telling your friends and sending an email out to your lists?

Count me in! I live in Holland, MI, in a very conservative, GOP-dominated area, but I still want to do what I can to help put this disastrous war to an end. Please let me know how I can be of service. Thanks!
