According to the polls, a majority of Americans support the impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney. But few Americans know there is a nationwide grassroots impeachment movement because the Corporate Media refuses to report on our efforts on orders from Karl Rove.
So what can we do about it? How about making some old-fashioned noise - and breaking new ground in high-tech grassroots organizing! HonkToImpeach is simple:
- We'll hit busy intersections with signs asking cars to Honk To Impeach Bush - that's the old-fashioned noise-making part
- We'll also hold signs saying PASSENGERS: TEXT "IMPEACH" to 30644 - that's the new high-tech grassroots organizing, which will allow us to "sign up" all the honkers via text messaging for future organizing
- We'll post photos and videos of our actions to inspire more activism here:

I saw a guy who goes to gym
I saw a guy who goes to gym I go to who has a T-shirt that shows a pic of Dick Cheney. The shirt said Veterans against the real enemy lol.
My dad who is a Veteran (and usED to be a Rep) wanted one after I told him about it but my Mom had a "heart attack" saying he would be arrested,etc lol, So he opted not to .
I did email Pelosi about impeachment but I have the feeling it falls on deaf ears.

Are you serious about Karl Rove?
because I really wonder what is up with the MSM. But I'm worried more about a conspiracy between the Democratic leaders and the media. I think it's more that they don't want to look 'stupid.' A guy I approached today with a petition condescendingly lectured me that I was not being "politically sophisticated" and that impeachment is "silly." I think that's where our journalists are...when they are not covering Paris Hilton's jail break.
About the Rove directing the media thing
I'm sceptical. I'm also a foreigner. An Australian. I'm sure there are media outlets in the world that don't give a damn about Karl Rove. If you've got a verifiable communication or directive from Rove I reckon one of them would break this problem for you. Maybe a British or French media centre - those countries have traditions of free speach are UN Permanent Security Council members and so their media (or some of it ought to still have some freedom to operate as tellers of important truth).
Otherwise my feeling is a bit like lisamosc's I think the media just aren't going with this quite yet.

Bob and David, I'd add another suggestion for your "HONK TO IMPEACH" campaigners. When drivers are stopped for redlights offer them a flyer with impeach offenses summarizes, along with contact information for key congresspersons, plus one or two postcards with an impeachment message. They can choose who to send it to. In West Chester, PA, we have used pink postcards with the opening line: "SEND BUSH AND CHENEY THEIR PINK SLIPS!" At the last HONK-IN close to 300 drivers took the materials. Remember, the Honks won't be heard in DC but those postcards will be read, and you're recruiting new activists this way too!
Impeachment?
With Nancy Pelosi coming in as the next president I can see why some Democrats are leery to impeach this executive for changing the WMD data to go to war in Iraq. She so inept the congress rubber stamped the old republican budget. You win health care for kids by flooding the republican districts against with all the money and activists that are possible by cutting all the money given to locked districts which receive unneeded help. That would require leadership sadly lacking in the Democratic Party. Reid whose sons are paid to lobby him, only shows the democrats too are the party of the connected, by the connected, for the connected. After 8 years of the worst executive branch in my lifetime, I expect the democrats to create the same or better opportunities for my children than I had. We have the natural resources, we have an educated populace, we don't have the will to provide a better life for all Americans. Our present gov't is run by those that get it re-elected, big money, not the average Joe. Message to the democrats "Average Joe is fed up with you."

Not Enough Votes
I would love to see Bush and Cheney get impeached, especially for starting the Iraq War, and probably the soon to be Iran War, for money (Halliburton and other Contractors receiving billion dollar, non-competitive bids with their share prices skyrocketing in a sickening way) and for oil (fear and war that has seen oil barrel prices jump from $22 to $90 a barrel since the start of the Iraq War).
However, I don't see how we can get the votes. We need a 2/3 majority in both house and senate to impeach. Our best bet is once Hillary or Barack become President, we can have court hearings to send both of them to prision for War Crimes and we will demand that Hillary or Barack not pardon them once they are convicted.
Ann, you are confusing
Ann, you are confusing impeachment with removal from office by a trial in the Senate. It does not require a 2/3 majority to impeach. Passage of Articles of Impeachment only requires a "simple majority" by the House of Representatives. The process then moves to the Senate for the trial phase, where a 2/3 majority is required to remove the impeached individual from office. Bill Clinton was impeached by the House, but found "not guilty" by the Senate.
Once any civil officer (including the President or VP) has been impeached by the House, they are no longer eligible for a pardon.

Even in "red" OK, we get lots of enthusiastic noise from the drivers going by.

favor the impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. Further, their impeachment is mandated by the Constitution for the many crimes they have committed.
