One day after the election, Speaker Pelosi offered an olive branch to the tiny Republican minority:

"A country must be governed from the middle," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday. "You have to bring people together to reach consensus on solutions that are sustainable and acceptable to the American people."

So how did House Minority Leader John Boehner reply? With his middle finger:

"They want us to stand aside for the next two years, abandon our principles, and give the new administration and the Democratic leaders of Congress a free pass," the Ohio Republican said in a letter. "It ain't gonna happen. ... Democrats should not make the mistake of viewing Tuesday's results as a repudiation of conservatism or a validation of big government. Neither should we."

The second ranking Republican in the Senate, Jon Kyl, threatened filibusters against Obama's Supreme Court nominees.

Richard Bond, a former GOP chairman, said Republicans would and should take on Mr. Obama aggressively.

Rightwing talk show host Michael Reagan, Ronald's adopted son, wants to start impeachment.

And rightwing bloggers told conservatives to "gird your loins" to "fight every attempt" to enact Obama's progressive mandate.

If they go insane, then Progressives need to think about FOLLOWING Obama.

That is, spending most of our energy supporting him rather than pounding him on an array of issues.

It's the Economy this election cycle.
